The next time there is a city that is in danger of being overwhelmed by a hurricane we should have a big article about it in Newsweek magazine so everyone knows about the danger. The Federal government should also give the city tons and tons of money to fix the levys. Which they won't spend on other projects.

Then since we know that historically centralised governments reacts slowly to crises we should enable the local government to handle the crises. Mayors and governors should have some authority instead of being totally helpless.

Lastly, we need to educate the public about the dangers of hurricanes. We need to establish evacuation routes too.

Next time we need to have proactive solutions instead of reactive solutions.

Every public health expert in the world is warning about a possible bird-flu pandemic. By and large the public ingnores it. There are survivalist wackos, conspiracy theorists, a shortage of vaccines, uneven distribution of the disease, etc. In short plenty of targets for humor.

Good ideas. I'll see what I can do. It's easy to address things around us, but the harder part is being funny. I also try to be honest and not shine people on. I think that's the only way to go.
