    Speaking of abortion....

I remember hearing a discussion on the radio a while back, it may have even been a lwasuit, I am not sure, but they were discussing men's rights when it comes to abortion. Why do the men not have any say? I understand it is the woman's body, but it affects both of their lives immensely and they were equal partners in the pregnancy at the beginning. If a man does not want the baby and the woman keeps it and the relationship does not work out, he is paying child support for 18 years. If a man does want the baby and she does not, she aborts it and is off the hook. Doesn't seem fair to me. I almost think the act of having sex should almost constitute a contract between two willing parties and that they should have equal say in the end result. What if the man wanted the baby and was willing to raise it alone. Shouldn't she be forced then to have the baby and pay him support. Why should that be left up to her?

Men should not have a say, as the point of abortion is allowing the woman to keep her bodily autonomy without interference. The men are only involved if the women choose to involve them.

And where did you come up with this point for an abortion? Is this your point or is this referenced somewhere meaningful? I am not buying it. There are many given reasons for an abortion, but I would believe the two main ones are that I don't want it or I don't think I can care for it. The first one, to me, should be invalid. And if you don't think you can care for it and there is someone who has an interest why shouldn't they have a say?

If the woman does not want to go through with the pregnancy, she shouldnt have to. However, if she is willing go through with it to give the child to the father, then by all means.

Guys, here's a thought... don't have sex with a woman who has differing views than you do on abortion. That should be the subject of the "man's rights" debate. Of course, that would require people who have sex to actually take the act as seriously as it is.

    Ain't gonna happen.

I'll be sure to understand a woman's political beliefs before I have sex with her.

    You're right, ain't gonna happen.

Right, and if she had any sense, she'd use birth control or keep her legs shut.

Right, and the man would put a condom on before sticking it in. I'm sorry, but like was said before, it's not a one-way street. She didn't crawl on top of herself and get pregnant. There are lots of reasons for abortion men don't even consider. Incest, rape, not wanting to pass on STD's to your child that you might have acquired (you don't have to be promiscuis to get an STD), not emotionally ready, not financially ready, abusive relationship or bad living conditions the mother doesn't want any child to be in, fearing she might repeat the cycle. My mom had an abortion when she was 16. It wasn't her choice, her father made her get it. I'm pro-choice, but men really don't have control over anything. Even though they helped get it there, the women have to carry it and give birth to it. Try shoving a boulder through your mouth and then come back and tell me you want to do that a couple times in your life. It sounds like this is full of men that don't know what women really go through with the whole "abortion decision". It's tough, and it changes your life forever. I'm sure you knew some of that, but that comment pissed me off. IT'S A TWO WAY STREET, PEOPLE.

    Peace, love, and lotsa lubrication,
    Jazz
