In my case none. My retirement investment accounts are managed and don't depend on any single investment sector to guarantee a maximized return.

Still could be if people were to take their retirements out and hold them while at the same time pressuring the government to stop bailing out banks and investment firms and allow the market to adjust properly, then reinvest after the smoke clears. Then pass laws preventing government intervention in the markets through debt spending or increasing the money supply and requiring a balanced budget.

401-ks be damned if this continues the fed funds rate will spike at close to 5%. I figure about 2T in foreign funds headed for the sidelines and more than 5T in additional foreclosures if DC doesn't do something and do it quick. uncertainty corrodes confidence,

You are right about the foreign funds and foreclosures but all the government will do is inflate the money supply even more and then hyperinflation will take hold.

We both know the gov will not discontinue to bail these banks out, and I do not care who resides in the white house in 09.

Hyperinflation is what makes everyone an advocate of high unemployment not to mention that it erodes morals something you may have noticed just looking around.

With Russia in the middle of a zero down real estate boom, China starting their own bubble and complete collapse of the real estate market of the three old Baltic SSRs already in the past how will bailing out Freddie and Fannie do any good?
