Oh it is? Since you are apparently the expert on the life of some 16 yr old you've never met, I guess I'll yield to your wisdom. Just by the fact of reading the article, you KNOW for a fact that your little theory is correct.

For me 50-50 means equal chances for success or failure, in his case of course; not as a general statistic. Why are you so pissed off all the time?

I completely understand why you disagree. But what do you actually take with you to life from school other than basic mathematics, reading and writing skills and a few or a lot of friendships, depending on what kind of person you are. Who on this forum knows trigonometry even if woken up in the middle of the night? Very few people if none. Who knows what happens in Ana Karenina? Who knows the formula of benzen? Where are the sweat glands on a hypo? Do you really need all that. If you want to learn them you will. If you don't want to there's no force on this earth that can make you learn them. This is the case of a better half of students in primary or highschool. When I was in highschool what we used to do was cheat on the written exams, get good grades, and then get Fs on oral exams or work on the profesors to give us better grades on those too, which in the end they did. This was the case with most of the students in all classes.
By the way I'm studying economics and doing realy well. And all the things I've learned in highschool... I didn't need them, except for reading, writing, multiplying, adding, dividing.

I'm not arguing that nobody will learn anything in school. I'm arguing that most of us don't. Everything I learned about life I learned by myself or with my friends, not in school. Isn't that what school is suppossed to be preparing me for?

This is a discussion board. I draw conclusions based on what I read and what is posted. Maybe if stopped making sweeping generalizations you would do the same thing.

Does this surprise you? There are parents that let their kids drop out of school before they are 16 to sit home and smoke pot.

No it doesn't, but that doesn't make it right.

Okay, now this is just silly, what in the... *&$*% kinda dumbass would go and drop out of school for Guitar Hero?! I mean Really! It's a fun game! (I can play most songs on expert) but dropping out of school for a game is just retarded... maybe that's what's wrong with him... did it say if he was mentally challenged in any way?

Yep and even that seems more productive than guitar hero!

Yo, where the hell have you been?

Ignore lists are for those that are wrong, know they are wrong, and prefer to keep being wrong without the nuisance of being told they are wrong.
