Tax cuts are always good. Without a central bank it would force spending cuts to follow.

It is true that infaltion is one of the most deadliest things for an economy though, which can be caused by tax cuts without spending cuts. (but the fed is a bigger culpret)

The Fed is the only culprit there is.

You people need the whole picture, let me help you out.
Richard Viguerie: Bush White House Hides True Scope of Federal Deficit
Quote:
MANASSAS, Va., July 29, 2008 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The following is a statement by Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, regarding the White House projection of a $482 billion deficit for Fiscal Year 2009:
"The White House has issued figures indicating that President Bush and his enablers in Congress will leave his successor with a budget deficit of $482 Billion for Fiscal Year 2009, which is a record. How's that for a legacy?
"As shocking as this deficit figure is, that's still not the true scope of our budget woes because it excludes $80 billion in war costs and $227 billion borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund.
"The real budget deficit is therefore $789 billion.

Actually the deficit, if you count off budget items, is closer to 800 billion.
What the hell, it really doesn't matter anymore, now does it?
If you taxed everyone at 100% you would not generate enough revenue to cover expenditures.

It is sorta lonely over there but I post anyway, who knows it may become a bustling site one day.

Re: Good job George!!!
There are a lot of aspects to this - simply to reign in expenditure America will have to leave Iraq and once it does it has the same problem that the end of WWII had - lots of excess workers and no jobs to go back to.
In a recession economy where are the soldiers currently employed in Iraq going to get jobs?
George has been happily signing free trade agreements but not all of those favour America - so the infrastructure is not there because competition has wiped a lot of it out
Then there is the loss of America as a leading innovator and researcher. Once upon a time "invented in America" was so common that it became cliched - now it seems that many other countries are taking up that mantle.

Thats a brilliantly interesting point. Except its not just soldiers this time, but the large contingent of ancilliary civilian staff as well, which have zero claim on government welfare.
Will Iraq / Afghanistan become social welfare by proxy?
