Actually, the role of the oil speculators needs to be changed. Let them have to take the delivery of the oil barrels they are bidding on.

The speculators are what is bringing the price of oil up.

Today, Congress is actually having hearings on the role of the oil speculators, not sure it will do any good, but at least it's a start.

That's your answer? "They will be gone in Nov"? Then even if the whole of the gov't is in dem hands, you think they'll bring oil prices down? Why haven't they now? No way would Bush veto a bill that would bring oil prices down.

They have been blocked at every turn by the Republicans & they don't have the votes in the Senate to override a veto.......But they will in January/09!

George W. Bush is using this as a political mechanism to turn Americans against the Democrats, and the Democrats are using this to make Americans hate George W. Bush. It's the usual blame game where there is alot of finger pointing, but no action.

How have they been blocked? Didn't the dems just vote down the offshore drilling ban again?
