Republineocontarians, see, you're not a fragmented party like that, just a nice happy family

I was recently interviewed by a Fox News reporter who was writing a story based on information he was given by "informed sources. He told me that he knew his sources were at best misinformed, or, at worst, lying. In response to my asking him why he would write a story based on lies, and why he wants my comments he said "I need your comments because they give the story balance"...

Bite your tongue!!!
Barry Goldwater would be rolling over in his grave, to hear you say such a thing!
Barry Goldwater, would consider the Neo-Cons to be a blight on humanity.
Which, as near as I can tell, is pretty much righ on target.

Okay, my turn.....thanks nonsqtr. There are two things at play here. Neoconservatism, and the immortal, the genius, the last honest politician in America....Arizona Senator Barry M Goldwater (Applause)
Wiki says that Goldwater in the 1964 election was the first of the neoconservatives, and that a neocon is neither a New Dealer, nor a McCarthy supporter. Goldwater was that. The cornerstone of Goldwaterism is no religion in government, period. He was quoted as saying: "I think every good American should kick Falwell right in the ass". Another really cool thing about Goldwater is that he was famous for was calling out other senators who he thought were liars into the senate hallway and threatening them with physical violence if they didn't go back in and clarify. He got away with is several times. Goldwater meant honesty. Which is why he supported at first but then came to detest Nixon. He said "You can't trust Nixon from here to the phone". He never forgave Nixon for shaming the Republican party with Watergate and personally asked Nixon for his resignation.
He had some peculiar positions though (for his time), imigration was not an issue in his day but he was quoted as saying "The Mexican imigrants I see in Arizona work twice as hard as most of Capitol Hill". He also sad "You don't have to be straight to shoot straight", so he was okay with gays in the military.
What Goldwater represented was Eisenhower type America first, keep government small, strong almost bloodthirsty national defense, no religion pure no flash no nonsense government. Nixon was NOT that because he lied. Reagan was NOT that because he courted the Moral Majority for votes. Bush Sr was close but wasn't given time, and Bush Jr. Forget it. But Wiki calls all of these Republicans Neocons, I don't see it that way.

How long have we been in Germany now? over 60 years. Having a military base in some country vs. policing a country and training and supporting it's military are two different things. If we are in Iraq with a military base only for a long time it will only be at the request of the host country, just as in Germany. We will be pulling back to a military base before Bush's term ends.

I don't believe that you would support Ron Paul in one breath then support McCain in the next. McCain is a douchbag

Hehehheh, that's my point. Goldwater IS a neo-con, yall just don't use the term appropriatley. Calling Bush a neo-con is what would make BW roll over in his grave.
Bite your toungue
Ronster, calling McCain a douchbag is exactly why I don't list Paul as my favorite. Im afraid he might put some of you Paultards in positions of power....last thing I want is my country being run by a bunch of 5 year olds who throw food when they don't get thier way.
