Will Muslims rule the world?

Gabriel's words to Muhammad foretell that Islam will spread worldwide and conquer all other religions. The message is found in Surah 48:28 and 61:9, which are translated into English as follows:

"He it is Who sent His Messenger with the guidance and the true religion that He may make it prevail over all the religions; and Allah is enough for a witness" (Surah 48:28).

"He it is Who sent His Messenger with the guidance and the true religion, that He may make it overcome the religions, all of them" (Surah 61:9).

"You ain't seen nothin yet!"

You're forgetting the following reading.

First off, it does not say "Conquer" by any stretch of any translation. To overcome and prevail simply means to have greater numbers and succeed in converting. All religions have such prophicies of their religion one day being the standard for the world. It is not about war, but about peaceful conversion. If everyone converts to a religion, that religion then prevails over others. (That is NOT synonimous with RULE others)

People both inside and outside of peaceful religions take things out of context and turn them into violence. Bad idea from both ends.

You say it isn't about religion. Yes, it is. It's ALL about religion. They say Islam is a religion of peace. I say bullshit. You could actually say that terrorists didn't corrupt the religion of Islam, the terrorists have actually been corrupted by IT. Some people here have said Christianity corrupts the mind. Same thing...but the Bible doesn't preach going around and killing everyone that doesn't agree with it. The Qur’an is a declaration of war against all mankind, and the Hadith is a terrorist manifesto. Violent jihad is a everywhere in Islamic history, and many passages of the Qur'an and sayings of Muhammad are used by jihad warriors today to justify their actions and gain new recruits. No major Muslim group has ever repudiated the doctrines of armed jihad. The theology of jihad denies unbelievers equality of human rights and dignity, and it is a duty of every Muslim. Muslims have spoken of many things as jihads: the struggle within the soul, defending the faith from critics, even going into non-Muslim lands for the purpose of spreading Islam. They will not stop until the whole world is an Islamic state.
