We're not going to do anything about Undocumented-Americans. If we wanted to we could simply enforce current laws and fine businesses thousands of dollars per illegal employee. Know how many prosecutions there were for employing illegals in 2005? Four. Or maybe seven, I can't remember exactly. Basically we're not going to do anything that would actually stop them coming.
The bottom line is we need them to keep the economy ticking, so we're going to keep letting them in. If a section of the American public is upset about this, that's just their tough luck. Business is business and the business of America is business.

Repeating a lie endlessly does not make it the truth. The claim that we "need them" is entirely false, and is put forward to justify doing nothing to enforce the law.

Re: Where’s The Fence? (Build It and They WON’T Come)
An update on the Border Fence.
Some Republicans and anti-illegal immigration groups in recent days have criticized the lack of progress, but DHS - which had committed to erecting 70 miles of fencing by Sept. 30 - says the project is back on track after being slowed by environmental concerns, contractor hiring and design issues.
Workers are scheduled to break ground next week on a seven-mile stretch southwest of Tucson, Ariz.; work on the remainder of a 37-mile barrier outside Yuma, Ariz., is continuing as well.
Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-El Cajon, a longtime fence backer, said in a letter to President Bush last week: "This lack of progress is unacceptable, especially when adequate funding is available to earnestly proceed with fence construction."
Homeland Security has set out a timetable that calls for 300 miles of new fencing and 150 miles of vehicle barriers to be in place by the end of 2008. Congress allocated $1.2 billion for border infrastructure improvements this year, and the administration has requested another $1 billion for next year.
I won't mention any names (inky) but a certain member on this forum said that
"The proposition to build the Fence was made three weeks prior to the 07 Senate/House elections to help boost the Repubs. It didn't work. All was forgotten."

Yea, they say it so it must be so. Come on give me a break, this fence will never be built. At best Boeing will get millions to build a Virtual something or another so we can all sit back in the warmth of our homes and watch these people continue to invade our country...Please tell me that I am wrong, and then prove it.

Re: Where’s The Fence? (Build It and They WON’T Come)
We have immigration problems and the best our leaders can come up with is: Let's build a big F'n fence? I think I've seen and heard it all now. Money and contracts with Sam using our money has nothing to do with it though. Un F'n believable.

No, you can't have my constitutional rights, I'm still using them!
One Nation- Under Surveillance, With Liberty and Justice for None.
Mr Con: A lot of Generals bought into the plan and the plan to remove Saddam Hussein was handled flawlessly. It is the aftermath that didn't go well at all.

No, I have had three back surgeries, and broke my neck once. Not to worry I am ok and after neck surgery, I regained the right side of my body.
I fly ultra lights, and taught myself hang gliding. Figure if I eat dirt then I'll eat dirt. I am getting to old for pain..
