Where does your food come from? New labels tell you

Where does your food come from? New labels tell you

Great and about time. I never understood why this hasn't been done earlier. Now if they tell you if your beef is cloned or not would be another great step.

Fast forward a few years, and you'll be telling us that the labels are worthless because they're full of lies, and not to be trusted.

By the way... this law is enforced at the Federal level. How does that jive with your feelings toward the 10th Amendment?

The feds kept the states from telling us where the food was coming from, how does that jive with your love of the federal government?

I love your expertise at trolling, you seem to have plenty of experience.

Sounds to me like the feds are requiring these new labels, regardless of what private businesses, or individual states decide. Are you telling me that individual states are free to opt out of this labeling program under the auspice of State Sovereignty?

I am sure the states will have no problem with this, it will promote local foods, and foods from the US in general.

It's not a matter of whether individual states have a problem with it. It's an issue of freedom. By enforcing this law, the federal government is enacting powers that are not outlined in the U.S. Constitution. Individual state governments are not permitted to hold their own votes on this issue; they have no choice but to follow these regulations.

Do you agree that the U.S. Federal Government is right to assume such powers over the States?

See here is where your wrong, they are making the PRODUCERS label, not the states. Or maybe you think a state employee labels the foods.

Now that said, the states wanted this, the feds would not allow it.

See how your foolish bashing can backfire??

Fine... So you're saying that individual states are perfectly within their rights to tell producers - within their own state - that they have no obligation to comply with this federal regulation. Am I correct?

Yes, your correct, but that will not happen. This is a benefit for the states.

So I guess we're in agreement, that it's sometimes okay for the federal government to wield powers that aren't described in the U.S. Constitution.
