Thread: y'all ever been to a va hospital?

so,...the past week or so i've spent some time at the VA with a friend,....and i've come to the conclusion that when they can make THAT work,.....then i'll jump on the government health care boat,...

that places is so screwed up,...with paper work, and red tape,....i mean if the government can make THAT work then how do we expect them to make the other work,.....

just a thought,....

There is this misbegotten belief amongst liberals that taking private entities and making them government entities will make them work better. Where does this idea come from in them? Where did they see this in action ever?

i have no idea,....really

and i'm gonna just throw this out there,...

i was so embarrassed as an american that we dont take better care of our vets,....the things they have to go through for medical care,.....

i'm just sayin,...even a beauty queen can see that,....

In every single category, the VHA system outperforms the highest rated non-VHA hospitals.

In the latest independent survey, 81 percent of VHA hospital patients express satisfaction with the care they receive, compared to 77 percent of Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Outside experts agree that the VHA has become an industry leader in its safety and quality measures. Dr. Donald M. Berwick, president of the Institute for Health Care Improvement and one of the nation's top health-care quality experts, praises the VHA's information technology as "spectacular." The venerable Institute of Medicine notes that the VHA's "integrated health information system, including its framework for using performance measures to improve quality, is considered one of the best in the nation."

Who would have thought, the VA ranks better than Johns Hopkins, the Mayo Clinic and Mass General.

Guess all that paperwork and red tape must be worth something.

From the impacts of the vice versa. Public entities work fine until they become privatised - Telstra and Qantas for instance.

i know what i've seen
i know what i've experienced

too many heads, not enough beds

paper work, red tape, come back when you've got 'blah blah blah',....

come talk to me when you've sat and watched how those places run,.....not after you've read some words on a page

No offence savannah, but words on a page reporting repeated, wide-ranging studies are worth far more than personal experience. Your experience is subject to a huge selection bias.
