I was "inspired" by a US politics thread where the thread topic spiraled into a discussion about God. What I'm going to talk about has nothing to do with God but that was the thing that got me thinking about starting this topic.
I used to have a very serious and advanced stage of asthma. I had to use those little pumps (aerosoles) two times a day and couldn't leave the house without the "emergency" pump (Ventolin). It's easy to guess that I wasn't happy about it. So, I did something about it. I started reading about my possibilities and, of course, a solution presented itself. It was macrobiotics. Around october 2004.
At first I was not impressed by it because all it said was "eat the way we show you and you'll be cured in matter of weeks".
It took me a while to understand what the hell were they talking about in those books. Spirals of life, yin - yang, etc but after a couple of months I was starting to get it.
So, I started eating the way I was supposed to in order to heal myself (doctors told me it was impossible and that I'll be stuck with this my whole life). After a month I lost more than 20 kg and asthma never returned.
I was a heavy smoker for more than two years. I quit about a month ago.
In those book I read the authors claimed they could heal any disease. After the I healed myself (and I'm fairly new at this) I have to question why is western medicine considered the only possible way, when it can't even cure asthma, let alone leukemia, cancer, aids, etc (all illnesses where far eastern medicine has achieved positive results).
Just wondering.
Here some of the books I'm talking about:
Macrobiotic Way, Michio Kushi
Macrobiotic Guidebook for Living, Georges Ohsawa
Order of the Universe, Georges Ohsawa
Atomic Age, Georges Ohsawa
