    Does George W. Bush

    Suffer from Dunning-Kruger Effect syndrome?

Based on how he's been from the Presidential race in 2000 right up until this very day, whereby by his public comments, which very often show that W has little knowledge about the vast majority of things and that he's incredibly ignorant, yet he acts like he knows EVERYTHING and EVERYTHING, and that he acts like he knows MORE than the EXPERTS on ANY given subject, and he acts like he's RIGHT ALL of the time and everyone else is WRONG....I think he might have Dunning-Kruger Effect syndrome.

I've put this thread in the Healthcare section, because Dunning-Kruger Effect syndrome is a psychological illness.

    "Dunning-Kruger Effect syndrome:

The Dunning-Kruger effect is the phenomenon whereby people who have little knowledge systematically think that they know more than others who have much more knowledge.

    - snip -

Kruger and Dunning noted a number of previous studies which tend to suggest that in skills as diverse as reading comprehension, playing chess or tennis, or operating a motor vehicle, "ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge" (as Charles Darwin put it). Specifically, they hypothesized that with regard to a typical skill which humans may possess in greater or lesser degree,
    1. incompetent individuals tend to overestimate their own level of skill,
    2. incompetent individuals fail to recognize genuine skill in others,
    3. incompetent individuals fail to recognize the extremity of their inadequacy,
    4. if they can be trained to substantially improve their own skill level, these individuals can recognize and acknowledge their own previous lack of skill. "

W doesn't recognize his own incompetence, which leads him to greatly inflate his own abilities, abilities that he just DOESN'T have....which in turn this is responsible for the disasters he creates.

    Re: Does George W. Bush

Sounds about right, but even if he DOES have it, he'll never be able to spell it or pronounce it.
