I'm a little surprised no one is talking about this:

In spite of a strong police and army police presence, around 300 protestors managed to congregate just minutes from the summit venue, the David H Lawrence convention centre, where Prime Minister Gordon Brown will meet with the leaders of the other 18 countries plus the European Union.

Police threw canisters of pepper spray and smoke at marchers as US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, arrived for a meeting with leaders of the world's major economies.

The protest close to the summit largely involved members of a Free Tibet lobby group, as well as individuals demonstrating for more jobs, and one man whose face was daubed in black and red paint and was seen taunting officers.

Police managed to contain the scuffle, however, with the giant "ring of steel" surrounding the summit venue, ensuring no protestors managed to get even close, although chants from the crowd could be heard at the convention centre.

Apparently, the far left isn't as much under Obama's spell as one might think...

Actually the left could give a shit, most of these people are libertarians or non partisans. The left rolls with the flow as long as there is not an "R" attached to the pupped directing the flow.

It will come out in a few days that the fucking scum police and military instigated these disturbances, it always happens that way.

The military....federal troops are on the ground and armed there, they have their check points and every thing. Welcome to Nazi America.

Just a reminder... Some 230-odd years ago, British troops in Boston opened fire on some violent protesters, killing a few. The British troops were brought up on trial, and exonerated. The lawyer who successfully defended the actions of the British troops went on to become one of our most venerated Presidents.

I was asked at the Tea Party, when do we go on the offensive, I answered, when the pricks put check points on your street. I meant it then, and I mean it today!

    Posse Comitatus Act

    [/quote]

    From your link:

There are a number of situations in which the Act does not apply. These include:

    * National Guard units while under the authority of the governor of a state;

    * Troops used under the order of the President of the United States pursuant to the Insurrection Act, as was the case during the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.

    * Under 18 U.S.C. § 831, the Attorney General may request that the Secretary of Defense provide emergency assistance if civilian law enforcement is inadequate to address certain types of threats involving the release of nuclear materials, such as potential use of a nuclear or radiological weapon. Such assistance may be by any personnel under the authority of the Department of Defense, provided such assistance does not adversely affect U.S. military preparedness.
You can't just read the parts you like. You have to read the whole thing. It's not unreasonable to believe that the President was using the military to keep the peace while meeting with world leaders from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

Considering the number of world leaders involved, I can understand why security wasn't left to the Pittsburgh PD.

No, there are few libertarians in there. It is the left. Mostly young, mostly clueless, and mostly strong Pres. Obama supporters. They have not changed over the years. You will find some of the old 60s radicals out there if it is warm.

If Pres. Obama were allowed to dictate the result of the meeting, these protesters would go away happy. They are, first of all, anti-free trade. They see this as a vehicle for the wealthy to get more wealthy, consistent with Obama's view. They are pro-union, consistent with Obama. They are anti-war.

The act needs to be revised as the guard's roll has. These are federal troops, and therefore illegal as hell.

I have been to NWO riots...err protests, ye there are some libs, but they are there for the anti war effort, G-20 protesters are a bit different. Most libs think the UN is coll and groovy and they hardly care about national sovereignty.

They are also strongly anti-bailout and anti-globalization, for very good reasons. I'm not sure I understand why you think they are pro-Obama. You either misunderstand Obama's positions or theirs.
