    United Nations

    One word usless.
The UN was desiegned to include all countries in the world and if someone did something wrong then the world would attack him yet they dont do anything they sit behind desks and make threats and give out papers. They put politics into it instead of action and it is usless.

Agreed. I think everyone agrees with this point. That is why nobody objects here.

American dislike to the United Nations is one of the reasons it fails. How many times has America vetoed motions, in the recent Israeli/Lebanon war, for example. (The bombing of the United Nation observers for one.)

Statesmen rise above their own party's interests and act in the interests of the whole country. I believe that if America could rise up above her own interests and act as a World Statesmen she could be a wonderful force for good in the world. To do this, she has to support the United Nations and not veto anything which she sees not in her own interests or those of her close allies. And that goes for us too.

lol, nods heads would add one of the reasons the league of nations failed was because it was seen as the "elite" club and so did not represent everyone, but the interests of the Powers at the top.

Can America really veto anything it wants? I was under the impression that others would have to veto as well...

EDIT: By the way, what did we veto again? A condemnation?

A single veto is enough. America vetoed any investigation into the death of the United Nations observers.
