Thread: Republican to offer timetable for Iraq withdrawal

Rep. Christopher Shays, a Connecticut Republican defending his seat from an anti-war challenger, says the U.S. should consider setting a timeline for troop withdrawals from Iraq. Shays has opposed previous calls to establish a withdrawal timetable and has been a strong supporter of the war.

So who holds Shay's leash? All big ideas like this are introduced slowly... this could possibly be the break of the administrations plan to close this thing out. To believe they didn't know this was coming out before it came out would be naive... and Shay is a party member, which would lead me to believe that he's putting this time-table out with whitehouse approval, possibly with heavy whitehouse involvement. If Bush is gonna pull us outta here, I swear to God and everything holy I'll break down right here and cry. Happy to come home, happy that this hell is ending, and totally destroyed that so many gave so much for so little. Don't let this be the end. America needs to turn this around, or America will be set on it's final path.
