European Union's path to global dominance

Check out an article about EU's path to global dominance and how the EU wants to challenge the U.S. economical and political influence on world affairs. The EU plans to become the strongest economy by the year of 2010, however it seems that not everything is going well enough:

    hmmm

With the dollar dropping like it has been lately due to its own internal issues, it is likely the Ero will surpass it before long, much like Canada, Japan and China and England have now done.

A euro is already more than a dolar, but I´m not sure that this is so important. The EU will take new members, poorer countries that need to be help economically. With the rise of China I also see it difficoult for EU to become the new economical potence.

With the rise of proportion of the Muslim population in the Europe I also see it difficult for EU to become the new economical power.

    hmm

I have to go with Marit here. What does a peaceful Muslim population have to do with whether or not Europe's economy rises or falls?

    1. Maritxu, please accept my apologies for my previous misspellings of your name.

    2. European Muslim population is not really peaceful (e.g. Spain, France), especially compared to American illegal and/or legal immigrants or Chinese country dwellers.

    3. Being a conglomerate of welfare states EU is supposed first of all to provide it’s Muslim population with food, shelter, schools, headscarves, walls to paint graffiti on and cars to burn. And only after that it should bother (if at all) about work for them. It does not look promising economically, especially if compared to economical impact of American illegal immigration or to Chinese workforce.

Spanish muslim population is peacful, I don't know where you heard the oposite. And in france, the protestors were not only muslims (if that's what you are refering to) and even if they were the only problem with them was lack of organization.

    ???

Alien, I used to live near Palo Alto, CA, where the largest American Muslim population lives. They are causing the economy to thrive there. Most own succesful businesses, and many help beautify their neighborhoods. I now live in Jackson, MI, near the second largest Muslim population in the US. I am seeing the same things here.

Many have family members in other countries, including Spain and France. From what I am told by these people who know first-hand, most Muslims in Europe are as peace loving as most Christians in Europe at this time.

A few expremeists give the majority who are not extremists a bad name. This is true of any cause. Never wrap an entire segment of population in with a few extremists.
