    JERUSALEM (AFP) – Several Israeli leaders on Sunday urged the United States to allow jailed Jewish-American spy Jonathan Pollard to attend his father's funeral, after he was not granted permission to join him at his bedside before he died.

    ~~~ I don't give a crap that he didn't get to see his father before his father died... I'm certainly not inclined to allow a Israeli spy travel to Israel for his father's funeral. That dude is lucky to be alive.

    I'd rather things be like they used to... soldiers are captured and eventually released. Spys are executed.
    When it comes to GOP stupidity, there's no need to make stuff up.

    Obviously, I'm not privy to any government's machinations but the best I can guess is that intelligence agencies sometimes develop their own internal agendas. Furthermore just because we're friends with the UK and France, for example, doesn't mean they're always being straight with us and vice versa.
