Thread: Hamas confiscates humanitarian aid trucks sent to Gaza from Jordan

Incredible. Palestinians are suffering and Hamas hijacks Jordanian aid which was destined for the Red Crescent Society serving the displaced in Gaza.

At least 10 trucks with humanitarian aid sent to the Gaza Strip by the Jordanian Red Crescent Society were confiscated by Hamas police shortly after the trucks entered the territory on Thursday evening, according to aid officials in Jerusalem.

Eight trucks had food products and another two had medicines. They were reportedly taken to Hamas-run ministries.

Initial reports said the intended target of the aid was the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Gaza. Hamas and the PRCS had a run-in in the past, when the Islamic group diverted another aid convoy.



A spokesman for the Hamas police in Gaza said that the number of trucks was in fact 14 and they would be "delivered to Palestinians in need in the Gaza Strip."

He added that Hamas was the responsible body in the territory and it would decide how to distribute the aid.

Sounds about right, they were democratically elected as a governing body, and should be treated as such.

How is confiscating food and medicine serving the population. The RCS, the equivalent of the Red Cross was to be the recipient and distributor of those Jordanian supplies. Instead Hamas hijacks them.

Are you living there? Do you know who needs it the most?

I bet Hamas knows the region a whole lot better than you do, or some foreign aid dudes in a truck.

They'll get it to where it needs to go more efficiently.

You say hijack, reality says redirect accordingly. Cut out the middle man, and help your people where they need it the most, and directly.

The RCS knows where the aid is most needed. And Jordan didn't intend that Hamas should hijack those supplies.

If any governing body in the world helped redirect aid in a humanitarian disaster I doubt too many people would think it was such a big deal.

Apparently your war on terror bias, with an underlying bias against Arabs in general, and the propaganda therein as an underlying core issue, seems to be clouding your perceptions.

I will look into this, so far I have found nothing but a single source, I am not saying they're right or wrong, but I am saying I will hold judgment until another source than Israel reports the incident.

Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia are three examples of governments who interfered with foreign aid distribution after disasters and all three were criticized for it. Hamas is no different.

First of all, they're not Arabs. They're Palestinians. Show me one post where I demonstrated a bias against the Palestinians. My bias is against the terrorists of Hamas.

Let's not kid ourselves. This about about getting rid of Arabs and muslims in general.

You see one only thing while the reality itself could be completely different, but you're not open to that possibility, so it only confirms the above in how you think.

If there is any corruption and madness in Palestine I'd place the blame 90% in Israel for not only creating it in the first place, but nurturing it at every turn.

You only need to look as far as Israel's latest military failure of epic proportions in radicalising the population against them, and most of the world for that matter.
