Thread: Russia stops gas supplies to Europe!

This goes for central, southeast Europe. I'm not sure about Germany, France and the UK but effective as of midnight 6/7 of January Russia has cut all gas supplies to European countries.
Some shit with Ukraine.

Actually I think Russia has a legitimate claim here. Ukraine still has a very large debt that it has to pay off to Gazprom.

Russia wants to increase prices of gas it supplies to Ukranie by 50-100%. I'm not sure about the exact number. There is an interest rate that sums up to 450 million euros that Ukraine refuses to pay because in all fairness the rate is bogus.
Russia is an evil empire and has no legitimate claim to cut off supplies to entire Europe. This is a dick measuring competition. The days of Kucma Ukraine are about to be restored.

A return to the cold war? (No pun intended)

If I sign a certain contract with you and you wish to change the terms of that contract after a few years you have no legitimacy in doing so. It doesn't matter if the things you're selling are yours, they're legally mine at an already agreed price.
What russia has done was a pure exercise of brute power, not legitimacy. Monopoly.

What are you freaking out here for? Do you know I pay for my gas much more than Ukrs now? Why have I to pay for Ukrs? If you so love Ushenko - pay for him, I wont any more. BTW I dont want to pay for Lukashenko also.

But you were willing to pay that extra buck for Leonid Kucma and Victor Yanukovich. At least that was the official policy of mother Russia.
