    conspiracy

The inventors and propagationist of theories not based on any sound evidence have been around since noah was accused of having not one but two arks . The conspiracy theory doin the rounds at the time speculated that he kept the other ark for his own escape when the time came - he was accused of duplicity , instilling fear , beastiality and racketeering . So as entertaining as these what if ... theories are there is no substitute for the truth.

So your point is all conspiracy theories are wrong? Ok, well I substitute your perception of truth with mine, and label yours a conspiracy theory. Then what?

    Re: conspiracy

I had a class in college called "Presidencial assasinations" It was mostly about Lincoln and especially about Kennedy. The professor was clearly an advocate of the conspiracy theory about Kennedy's death at the hands of other government officials in cahoots with the Mafia. After reading all of the material and seeing all of the films and hearing all of the lectures I am left with one conclusion. It was Oswald alone. They (books and professors) tried real hard to ignore certain facts. They made it out like Oswald could not possible have shot the president. Could not have fired fast enough. Tests have since been done that prove it is very possible especially considering that Oswald was a marine sharpshooter. My point being that certain types pf people will glom onto any conspiracy no matter how week as it is in their personality to do so. Some people actually believe that man has decended from alien invaders for example. Amazing!

The science used in Kennedy's death has been dismissed and the facts are that there were more than on shooter.

Shit like this is in your face but the Powers to be lie and so many would rather believe the lie rather than think for themselves.

Back to Kennedy, in the pictures were he gets shot, the back of his head is blown off. Thats called an exit wound. In your face facts, but again the lies are easier to believe.

You are incorrect on two points. There is no fact of two shooters. It has been debunked. It has also been proven forensically that the skull of a person will percussion a fragment backwards on impact. You are simply one of those people that is inclined to believe a conspiracy theory even though there is no evidence of it's plausability. Same is true of twin towers and explosives and for the hijacked plan down in Pennsylvania.

Really, last year a professor at Texas A&M was going to rake the CTers over the coals, man I would have given a thousand dollars to see his and his teams faces...Texas A&M Statistician Probes Bullet Evidence in JFK Assassination..Can't have facts getting in the way. I don't know if it is fear, guilt, or admitting your wrong, but I do know for most it is easier to believe the lies. Then when someone agrees that what they believed was a lie, they say something like "Oh well, nothing we can do about it now. It's time to move on." Thats crazy!!

to gypsy - my point is we dont know whether conspiracies hold water or not in the absence of facts - i am proposing healthy scepticsm not theory - conspiracy theories are alternative versions - these versions tend to be more entertaining and feed an already over active imagination .

    Re: conspiracy

The problem I have with conspiracy theorist them is, they believe in like every conspiracy.

They don't see themselves as obviously gullible enough to fall for all conspiracy theories. They see everyone else as stupid enough to be tricked by the trilateral commission.

They won't admit that they pretty much believe them all either, as they know it makes them look bad.

It's actually a coping mechanism. They fantasize about these elaborate plots to cope with the true horrors of reality. I'd rather live in their world honestly. Where there are no Islamic extremist that hate us, Nazi's never committed genocide, and a man with nothing more then a rifle can't become the most powerful man in the world.

I actually have spent a bit of time researching 9/11 however. Most the evidence is just not there. In fact when you prove them wrong on something they just ask another qustion.

I like the parts where they sift through photo after photo of the Pentagon attack, all showing hunks of airplane scattered everywhere FINALLY they find a shot that doesn't show any wreckage. They save it, puts it in a video, and writes voiceover that says NO PLANE HIT THE PENTAGON and NO PHOTOS SHOW ANY EVIDENCE OF A PLANE.

If the conspiracy theorist did one thing they'd be credible. That is that they should scrutinize everything, not just the story they don't like. If they did this they probably would not believe alot of the things they believe.

They are not bad people though, in fact sometimes they are a little fun.

well put thump - Sometimes the truth is too plain and event wise too short lived - The most entertaining are the multi-layered conspiracies - many years after the kennedy assassination in Dallas the Zapruder tape was released - just a few minutes long and poor quality cine it showed the moment the president was hit . At that time the conspiracies were running out of steam so this tape re-ignited the whole debate again - why was this tape only now being released ? Why did the authorities not release it at the time ? etc etc.

I was not going to bring 911 to this thread, but I must defend myself.

We all on that thread believe there is a hole about 16 feet in diameter. Now this is the common belief of the believers; The plane hit so hard the insides of the plane went into the little hole and the skin squashed like a beer can and burned up. Well the insides of a 757 are a little bigger then 16 feet, but here is the hoot, the engines were supposed to have been found within the building. I asked how they got there, there were no other holes to speak of, well I was answered that the wings on a 575 pivoted back on a hinge like on a B-1 bomber because the 757 was designed to attack the pentagon.....:whistling: It's in my sig!!!

    Yep us CTers are funny!!!!!
