Thread: Bhutto attack video emerges

DRAMATIC video footage of the attack which killed Benazir Bhutto has emerged tonight.
The film shows the former Pakistani Prime Minister addressing huge crowds in Rawalpindi.
But panic ensues when bullets are fired at Mrs Bhutto's convoy which was then followed by a suicide bomb blast.
Tonight Pakistan said it has “intelligence intercepts” indicating that al Qaeda was behind the killing of opposition leader Mrs Bhutto.
The Interior ministry said today there is "irrefutable evidence" that Al-Qaeda is trying to destabilise the country.
Former prime minister Bhutto was killed in a gun and bomb attack as she left an election rally in the city of Rawalpindi yesterday, plunging nuclear-armed Pakistan into one of the most serious crises in its 60-year history.
“We have intelligence intercepts indicating that al Qaeda leader Baitullah Mehsud is behind her assassination,” ministry spokesman Javed Iqbal Cheema told a news conference.

Mehsud is one of Pakistan’s most wanted militant leaders and is based in the South Waziristan region on the Afghan border.

Cheema said authorities had recorded an intercept on Friday morning in which Mehsud had congratulated his people for carrying out the attack.

He also said Mehsud was behind a suicide bomb attack on Bhutto in Karachi that killed about 140 people hours after she arrived back in the country from eight years of exile on October 18 this year.

Doesn't seem odd that this happened at the time that Bush is about to send troops into Pakistan, Bhutto would never allow that!

Now Bush is tied to this ? Wow, that's a stretch. You know Musharraf was never crazy about American troops coming into pakistan either. Im not saying she deserved what she got but the radical Muslim element that had her killed is the same one she supported in Afghanistan when she was P.M.

Perhaps Pakistan will now get serious about cleaning Al Qaeda out of the tribal areas in the NW Territories.

As for specualtion that the Bush adminsistration is behind the assassination, that's not even worthy of discussion.

Mushie will be dead by the end of 2008 and it will be the same guys he let run rampant in his own country that will do it. Sharif was almost killed yesterday for christ sakes. All their leaders or potential leaders will expire soon if they don't get their shit together. And since the military is in charge of the nukes, that's the only think I want our country involved in.

US Special Forces are to increase their presence in Pakistan amid assessments that the country is to become the central battlefield for al-Qaida as it is driven from Iraq. Article here.........

This was agreed to before Bhutto's death, I think now they will be sending in more.

If you notice is says "Increase there presence".

Super Duper disastrous for Pakistan if this happens. A lot of Pakistanis I spoke with today really are worried about that happening.

It's too early to know exactly what occurred. Her people say she was shot and the doctors said she died from a gunshot wound to her neck yesterday.

Too many versions and too many possibilities for any one to say what happened. And Coolio, you aren't right yet. They don't know who did it or even how it happened. Hell, the official Pakistan government report is that she hit her head against the mechanism that closes the sun roof and died from that injury.
