Taleban militants in Afghanistan say they have freed two women from among the 21 South Korean hostages they are holding as a "gesture of goodwill".

Taleban negotiators, who have been holding talks with a South Korean delegation in the city of Ghazni, had said earlier a deal could be near.

They are so nice, I tell you they are just misunderstood cold blooded killers. If you were held up in a cave for months at a time you would get a little irritable too. We should overlook that they allready killed 2 of the Koreans. And besides its all the fault of George Bush for invading the Talebans peacefull utopia to begin with. ~ joebobkc

Samuel Jackson taught me that they way to end a hostage situation is to keep them talking, keep them engaged, keep them hopeful, and one by one get the hostages out. Just the kids, then just the women, then just the old, then just a few... and so on.

There is another way - remember that bloodbath in the school in Russia? Or Waco, Texas?

betcha those women were menstruting and the muslims can't touch dirty menstruting women so they released them.

To start with, the word is menstruating.


There is no restriction on Muslim men touching women who are menstruating. A muslim man is not allowed to have sex with his wife during her period.

Do you think they already have satellite tv. That would solve a lot of problems. IT would take some time, but eventually they would become fat and lazy, but we would have to keep sending them fast food. Kentucky Fried Chicken should do the job!

it will come to that soon. these Koreans aren't of much value at the moment. sad.

My Korean students said that when the captors took the group and demanded a release of prisoners, the Korean government said 'yes' right away, totally ignoring the fact that A) you're not supposed to negotiate with terrorists, B) they had no idea who it was they were supposed to release, and C) those prisoners were in Afghani custody, giving Korea no authority whatsoever to release them. This resulted in a lot of confusion on the part of the bad guys, and has seriously damaged the negotiation from day one.

I don't know if it's true, but it's all over Korean media they said.
