It's called preperation my young friend. Military life is not for every one. I don't want no slugs watching my back.

It's in my blood. I want to do it. My grandpa was close with the mofia, so he dropped out of school, got his birth certificate forged and went to Korea at 16. My great uncle died in WWII. My cousin is graduating from Annapolis this year. My uncle retired a couple years back from being a colonol. My other uncle was a leutenant in ground forces. One of my ancestors was a Confederate soldier. My dad would have been in the airforce had his vision been better: they requested him.
I want to do this not just for me, but for my family.
well hurry up this war ain't getting any younger...............SSG
SSG, Do you accept you entered the armed forces of your own free will and were aware of the potential and existential dangers of military engagement? If you do then you have tacitly agreed to put civilian life before yours. Therefore, if a sacrifice is to be made, it should be you and not I (a civilian) who should make it
Nope. I can envision scenarios in which it's necessary to withdraw my armed forces, sacrificing civillian population centers, to prevent an enemy attack on a salient position that could endanger not only those troops but the entire course of the war.
Sometimes soldiers are pawns in the game of war, and oftentimes the civillians don't show up on the board at all. The goal of war is to protect your king while killing the enemy's.
That's it.
I said that I would put a civilians life before mine if the question arises when I am in the military. But you enter the forces by your own free will and entrust your life with your commander. Should he want you alive, then you must stay alive.
Your death could endanger the whole platoon if you were the only man in the group who was good with a sniper rifle. This is entirely hypothetical, but if you die, then your platoon is fired upon by on solitary sniper, you may lose more than just your life.
Now I may get some criticism from SSG and FFA saying that "this is not how this is done in the military," but keep in mind this is hypothetical, and something simaler, not exactly the same, could happen.
