When I read such facts - to me it becomes terrible! How it is possible in opened to propagandize nazism and to profane monuments to soldiers to the liberators who have destroyed fascism?

As representatives of " Night patrol " and have informed the Constitutional party, about the Bronze soldier on Тынисмяэ in Tallinn there was a fight: «skinheads» have attacked the veterans assigned to a monument flowers. On initial data, in incident anybody seriously has not suffered. Fight has stopped quickly, one of the parties has left "battlefield", press-service Pyhjaskoj of prefecture has informed.

In occasion of the conflict about a monument on Tyniismae the press release of the Estonian nationalist movement in which appears has acted: About 20 nationalists wished to assign a wreath from a barbed wire to legs of the Bronze soldier, on a wreath there was an inscription to " Murderers of Estonian people " and a mourning tape with an inscription " to Murderers, tyrants and torturers of Estonian people ". Unfortunately, in a lot of those Eastern European countries the neo-Fascist movements are growing in number. It's all incredibly disturbing, those countries went through Hell during WWII, and many had Puppet Dictators forced onto them by the Nazi's.

The people who lived through it are getting lesser and lesser in number, and sadly the younger people who never lived through it are lionizing it.

I'm glad that there such people who support veterans.

Here is the letter we sent to congressmen:

    Dear Congressmen,

We are writing to you with hope that the facts mentioned below will not leave you indifferent.

Something strange and awful is happening in the post-soviet republic and currently a European state – Estonia. It looks like mass psychosis, though no-one seems to pay any attention to this. And the thing is that Estonian authorities behave as if mesmerized by their friendship with the USA (which actually comes from the idea that if Estonian soldiers fight in Afghanistan (120 men), Iraq (34 men), Kosovo (30 men) they (the Estonian government) can do everything (they are told to do) with impunity).

    But let’s come to facts.

On the 27-28th of November 2006 American president George Bush performed his visit to Estonia. He gave just a 30-minute press-conference. In his speech to journalists Estonian president Ilves stated that this visit confirms that USA and Estonia are not only friends but also allies in struggle for freedom and democracy in the world. He also mentioned that the views of the USA and Estonia on the world almost completely coincide (on 99%). Bush replied that Estonia is a strong friend that is a reliable ally of the USA in fight against terrorism. He also said Estonian nation should be proud of the mission its soldiers perform in Iraq and Afghanistan defending common American-Estonian (not world) values.

Looks like nothing special, but that is only the beginning (hopefully not the beginning of the end).

On the 20th of December 2006 the Parliament of the Estonian republic approved two bills – “About the demolish of prohibited buildings” and “About the protection of the martial burial”. The first document determines the conditions of the monuments liquidation and the second – makes the legal basis to the remains of the killed reburial and the monuments transportation. Both documents directly refer to the Bronze Soldier monument fate and communal grave around it. On the 11th of January the president of Estonia Thomas Handrick Ilves signed both laws. Although later he had to defeat the bills as they were unconstitutional.

What is this? Someone may say it’s pure misunderstanding, but let’s go on.

On the 19th of February 2007 another “misunderstanding” took place – in the interview to BBC Estonian president claimed “The group of Nazi bandits were banished by another gang – Soviet troops”. That is his esteem of historical events, connected with the liberation of Estonia from fascists in 1944. This resembles not just actions of irresponsible politician, ignorant in history, but a provocation, an attempt to cause a quarrel between the countries, desecrate the memory about the heroes.

And to add the last drop we’ll outline the latest events happening in Estonia.

On the 23rd of February 2007 when the representatives of Night Watch movement and a Constitutional party came to honor the memory of those who died during the World War II and lay a wreath ordered by the veteran council of a Jewish community in Dnipropetrovsk on the Bronze Soldier monument, but they were not allowed to do so as the group of men came and tried to scatter the flowers and put a barbed wire wreath with abusing inscription. The conflict occurred but the police remained inactive.

These are not all but the most crying incidents taking place in Estonia.

The conflict is growing and already approaching the global scale.

But why is everyone silent, or they are made silent?

    Doesn’t anyone care for this?

Everyone is apathetic about the new rise of fascism!?

Someone has to stop this chaos.

The letter to the Congresspeople is honorable....I fear nothing will be done though

The key aspect is that Estonia appears to be assisting in some minimal way with the increasingly vague War on Terror, and that's all that W cares about....so Estonia gets a free ride to do whatever it wants to do.

It's the same with the appalling country known as Uzbekistan and their Totalitarian Dictator Karimov....he gets a free ride to do whatever he wants to do:

    Uzbekistan

Maybe the people of Estonia will voice enough concern that the monument won't be removed?
