This CAN'T go on! The tactics there are ALL WRONG! The generals should be replaced!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Ten American troops were killed at the weekend in two surprise attacks that caused alarm in Nato’s US-led coalition.

In one, hundreds of insurgents attacked a pair of isolated outposts in eastern Afghanistan, killing eight US soldiers and several Afghan policemen in the deadliest battle in 15 months. Scores more Afghan policemen were reportedly captured by the Taleban.

In the other an Afghan policeman opened fire on the American soldiers with whom he was working in central Wardak province, killing two and injuring three.

It was unclear whether the policeman was working for the Taleban or simply ran amok but the attack fuelled the distrust that many Nato soldiers already feel for the Afghan security forces that they are supposed to be working with and training as part of the coalition’s eventual exit strategy.

What tactics do you recommend that they employ?

For one thing they should not have these vulnerable "outposts", too easy to over-run.

I repeat, what tactics do you recommend that they employ and where should they billet in the field if not at an outpost?

The objective, as His Wonderfullness stated during his campaign, was to go after the Taliban and Al Quida. But now with pressure from his leftist base, as you

correctly stated, "he has no fucking idea what to do", and he's delayed the decision. So what's he doing? He resorts to management by consensus, and

will get back to Gen. McCrystal later. Well, guess what. I place the death of those 9 soldiers killed in the north of Afganistan over the weekend directly

on the shoulders of the Obama, the Annointed One, the Wus-in-Chief. If he had acted promply on the request by McCrystal, those soldiers would probably be alive

    today!

These outposts were due to be removed as a part of a shift in strategy to protect centers of population, the soldiers had been informed that they would be redeploying. This attack just came before that redeployment.

And in June 1944 when 3000 men died on Omaha beach because of poor targeting by the airforce, and bad planning, who should have been sacked? Eisenhower?

You have an expectation that war is somehow safe for the combatants? The US is facing a vicious and deadly enemy, the same people who used the main sports stadium in Kabul for public executions, mostly of woman. The same people who attack the very schools that were built to educate young girls. The very men who send in mentally challeneged youths with suicide bomb vests. The men who see ritual rape as a rightful punishment for a young woman who seeks a boyfriend not of her fathers choosing. The very peopl ewho see honor killing as a right.

Yeah, I agree. What the hell, they're only brown people. Not worth the effort certainly. And woman's rights, no one really believes in that stuff.
