I find it very humorous that Bush is still getting blame for everything known to man when Obama has had plenty of time to insitute his own policies and change the direction of the country. Obama has not changed the Bush policies but has maintained them. Is Gitmo closed? Has the Iraq timetable changed? Are we trying to win in Afghanistan? Health care? I mean the list can go on and on.

So after 9 months on the job, no initiatives have passed except numerous bailouts. So why is Bush still getting flack for things that Obama has failed on too?

Bush had eight years to screw up. Obama's time isn't really comparable, is it? No, it isn't. Now I'll let michaelr spread some lunacy.

I agree that Bush had more time to mess things up but Obama ran on a platform that advocated a complete 180 from the current policies and all he had done is managed the status quo. What real change has he brought? His own party doesn't support his healthcare initiatives.

Ok, I'll put it like this. Say I went to community of 25 homes. I went in and 80% destroyed all the homes in an eight year period.

Now, its your job to fix them all. You say you can do it, so you are hired. You have 9 months to complete the job. Could you do it? I am not talking about getting your buddies to help, you must work alone. Can you do it?

If I say that I can do it then I would get it done. Closing Gitmo should have been a piece of cake and he couldn't do that because he realized the American people didn't want these lunatics down the street from their kids.

He had a ton of support for healthcare until everyone realized it would ruin their chances at getting decent medical care.

I think a lot of people voted for him without fully knowing how he would impact their lives.

I agree that it could be said about any politican but it is sad when his party is in control and he can't pass anything. Like him or hate him Bush was able to make things happen with a bipartisan effort. Although most dems don't like to remember when they voted for his policies. I love how dems voted for No Child Left Behind and then turned on it. Just like when they voted for the war.

All I am saying is that the criticism should be going to Obama now. When Bush took office and the economy tanked he was blamed, not Clinton. Lets have the same standards for everyone.

You're right, Dems should have voted against both these things, and Medicare Part D, the bank bailouts, the creation of the Dept. of HS and the Patriot Act and FISA.

With all the money that would have been saved, we could afford insurance policies for every American. That would have been a better investment.

I am all for voting against the bailouts but socialized medicine is not the way to go.
