Its too bad they lost a public pool though. Like we need more housing. It was right for them to be punished, but the community lost too.

The pool was/is going bankrupt. The pool management claims the financial hardship started before this incident, but you would think if they were having that sever financial problems, opening up to more people would have helped out the situation. Instead they threw this group out and sent back there money, what with all the bad PR they got, I doubt they could get any new memberships.

Personally I think they filed bankruptcy to get out out of future lawsuits.

Also, it wasnt a public pool, it was a private pool.

However, the pool still physically exists. It would be nice if the pool was purchased by (or for) the township, and opened to the public. Won't happen, but it would be nice.

    Just bumping for another update...

Synagogue to use swim club for members' recreation

    May 15, 2010

The drama that began in June when a private suburban swim club broke a deal to allow visits from black and Latino children from a Philadelphia day camp is approaching its final act: the club's conversion into a recreational site for members of a Northeast Philadelphia synagogue.

Congregation Beth Solomon won a bankruptcy auction Thursday over four land-development companies with its bid of $1.46 million for the 10.5-acre Valley Club property in Huntingdon Valley. The money will be parceled out to the club's creditors - and, potentially, the plaintiffs in lawsuits over the club's treatment of children from the Creative Steps day camp.
