Quote 5 Words From the Associated Press? That’ll Be $12.50

Rupert Murdoch plans charge for all news websites by next summer

Looks like the media is hurting for dollars. Seem like they take after their controllers, when the revenues are down, gouge. Well it will backfire, and their advertisers better bet on that.

Yep - couple that, with this digital-tv conversion mess, and we now have a very interesting situation with the media.

My prediction: the news people are going to try to do what the record companies did (and, they will fail miserably,

just like the record companies did!) -

So, like, you wanna quote CNN in a post? Pay 30 cents - that's what it'll cost for you to "license" their words.

Ha ha - and meanwhile, the internet radio is EXPLODING, they've had over a thousand new stations in the last month.

And, pirate radio is taking off again - suddenly there are kids in my home town who want to learn how ham radios

work again - and that, is a very good thing - IMO slightly more useful than the after-school home-ec and car-shop

    programs.... YMMV....

And that is part of the problem, well that and people are getting the facts off the internet and they collide with MainScumMedia.

Modern mainstream media serves as nothing more than entertainment and self reassurance. With Fox News, CNN and MSNBC still selling the same old product, people are finding more niched "news" sites that cater even more specifically to their own point of view.

If people want to see something, there will be some media out there to show it to them. No matter how false their preconceived notions are, some "news" source will reassure them they are right.

But really, reality is only partially reflected anywhere reality is filtered in media.

The mainstream media just has this filter set for a wide variety of misrepresentations.

    Who Owns The TV Networks

The real problem as I see it, is a lack of diversity. Most of these companies are beholding to the government. For they truly are the "Ministries of Propaganda"!!
