Prediction: Troops to withdrawn from Iraq after a campaign of ugly partisan inquiries. Taxes go up.

I predict timetable, no troop withdrawal, taxes go up, and stock market drops.

Taxes have to go up to pay for the unecessary war and the money spent foolishly by BushCo. but of course you righties will paint a different picture...

No, Inky! You and I agree that the war was an expensive proposition that has to be paid for regardless of who is in office. So, the Dems get to blame the Pubs for that - that is, unless the Dems voted in favor of the war, too (I really don't know the voting on it).

My prediction was less value-laden than what you might think - just an observation. You know, there's 2 ways to pay for the war. One is to raise taxes, and the other is to stop funding for b.s. programs - some that are better left to the private sector, and others which are just outright absurd.

I would like to think that instead of having to feed the beast, the Dems would take a look at all the money we already pay in and do some in-house prioritzing (i.e. cut the b.s. and use the savings there to pay debt).

FWIW, had the Pubs maintained control, my prediction would have been:
Make war timelines no one can keep and raise taxes.

I don't think I fit too well among the "righties." But the lefties are equally as screwed up. Never before have I felt so disenchanted about the political process (the inability of either party to distinguish itself from the other on matters that count). But that's okay - I'll keep making money either way.
