    Pelosi as Speaker?

I have become more disenchanted with the Republicans, but never really stopped being disenchanted by the Democrats. In many cases, if you want to cast a vote that actually counts on more than just a personal level, you need to choose between the lesser of 2 evils.

Here' one tidbit I got out the 60-Minutes interview of Nancy Pelosi the other night.

She is trying to organize the Democratic party to be more cohesive and unified. She believes this will help the party because Republicans take advantage of the fact that Democrats don't have a unified agenda.

Im okay with that. However, she goes a step further. She wants the Democrats to make a unified effort to say "no" to every Republican proposal just to go against Republicans and thwart them while at the same time, bolster the unified Democratic agenda.

So, if it's good for the country, but it comes from the Republicans, the Democrats will vote "no." That's how Pelosi wants it to be.

    I do not trust her.

Smart move. Take a deeper look at some of Nancy's other votes, and her other pet issues. This is NOT the type person America needs in a leadership role, IMO.

The Dems don't even like her. Many have already said there is a fat chance in hell that they are going to make her speaker. The only thing that is guaranteed if the Dems take Congress is that taxes will go up across the board. Schumer, who will be the head of the Ways and Means committee has already said that.

My question regarding why someone would want a Dem Congress is this. The Iraq issue is just a small issue to bear for the next two years. It can actually be decided rather quickly and then what are we left with? Many people are already complaining that their discretionary income is lower than it was in the 90's, but the Dems have already promised an increase in minimum wage and an across the board tax hike along with the repeal of Bush's tax cuts. That will create higher priced goods, less overall spending from the wealthy which equals less jobs, and less income from each paycheck.

    Why is this desirable???
