Thread: Democrats... Check This Out

OK, here we go. A financial plan from a Republican to all the Democrats out there. Whew...where do I begin?

First, you guys think we stand for everything corporate, so you think we embrace credit cards etc. You then think we stand for all the financial problems created by credit cards and other money making schemes set forth by corporations. Not true at all.

Here are today's financial lessons from a Republican to a Democrat:

1. If you get a credit card in the mail, cut up that bullsh*t, and throw it in the trash. Don't use credit cards, ever.

2. Any time someone tries to sell you ANYTHING tell him to go fuck himself. If you need something, you will get up off the couch and buy it.

3. Pay cash for everything you can. Put down the biggest downpayment you can afford on something. Try to avoid financing for your entire life.

4. Be a "professional" something. Go to college, make yourself as valuable to a company as possible. Educated people are more rare than uneducated people, that is why they get more money.

Don't throw away my entire system just because you're not ambitious. If you're not ambitious, learn to be happy with less.

Although I hate all of your other threads, this is sound advice.

Applying the same logic I used above, I will also say: Just taking money from this guy over here and giving it to some other guy over there doesn't sound like a good idea. The other guy just needs to motivate his ass.

So, don't give your money to some guy, give it to me. LOL

Great advice, my father yells at my hubby all the time to throw away his two credit cards. He only keep them to build up his credit. They have small balances and he buys something and pays it off the same week. I don't have any because if I did I'd have a house full of crap I don't need and no way to pay for it.

Maybe we could tell Bush about this concept of only spend what you have the money available to pay for. All of us Dems and GOPs will be paying this particular credit card off for generations.

Democrats think Republicans "embrace" credit cards? I don't know exactly what that means. You advise us not to sink ourselves into debt up to our eyeballs. That's probably good advice. Thanks very much.

My problem with this post is that you seem hellbent on framing EVERYTHING as if it's Democrats versus Republicans. Credit cards? What do credit cards have to do with your favorite political team? I can find you somebody of any political stripe who will tell you that it's good advice not to drown yourself in debt.

So let's use driniking and driving as an example. Any sane person on Earth belives tha drinking and driving is stupid and should be illegal. Only a maniac would disagree with that. RonRegRocks would, in this case, make a thread saying:

Liberals and Democreats. 9,000 people a year die from drinking and driving, and yet Liberals and Demmocrats fully support drinking and driving. Refusing to accept that it is dangerous. How many more people have to die because of liberalisms failed insistance that we all drive drunk. Are any of you democrats(meaning every single other person on this site) willing to stand up and defend the liberal and democrat support of drinkign and driving.

Then 5 people will respond with 'what the hell does this have to do with democrats' but he's already gone posting another thread assuming that anything ridiculous and silly is necessarilly, by definition, supported by liberals.

Labels are like hammers that the clueless use to bolster arguments that are horse hockey. Frankly, for me, I enjoy being called Liberal because I remember when the tag of Liberal was a badge of honor. Humanism versus greed.

Yes, it's sound advise if you are just an average citizen who's living paycheck to paycheck and just making it.

But, because I have to bring it up, and you know I would, how can this guideline be seriously taken by a Republican politician or a Republican corporate executive? Aren't they the ones, while not physicaly having a credit card, have unlimited resources from which to steal and "borrow" what money they need?
