Exclamation Senate Vote Will Pardon President Bush

digg - Senate Vote Will Pardon President Bush
Please Digg to help spread the word.

"This week, the Senate is planning to quietly hold a vote that would pardon President Bush for breaking the law by illegally wiretapping innocent Americans without warrants. According to Senator Leahy, the bill would '...immunize officials who have violated federal law by authorizing such illegal activities.'" That's from a MoveOn.org petition.

I think that this very much deserves attention. Whether or not one supports the measure is irrelevant to its newsworthiness since it's such a big issue, and people should know about it so that they can come to their own conclusions. With that in mind, I think it'd be noble no matter what "side" you're on to stick a link to this Digg page on your web sites; I think it deserves it.

Personally, I think that he should go to court. If he's found innocent, then fine, but he should at least have to appear before a court and be heard there.

I'm not surprised. But yeah, I just hope that word of this gets out.

Any ideas on how to get more Diggs? Care to help me get them?

Is there an article about this?

The only thing I've found with this quote '...immunize officials who have violated federal law by authorizing such illegal activities'" is in the transcripts of the Alito hearings.

U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Judge Samuel Alito's Nomination to the Supreme Court

That was back in January of this year.

I'm not too worried, I wouldn't really oppose rounding up terrorists in a much more aggressive fashion, killing them, and making them disappear. I think the law should protect only people who plan on following the law. The laws of a state are one thing, but if the state is destroyed by an outside force, why have laws? It's an odd part of Political/Social Science, but it's true.

If you guys are really opposed to catching terrorists, just say so. Would you be in favor of letting off a guy who raped a 14 year old girl on a technicality or hampering the police force's ability to catch him? Or would you just rather see the guy who did it end up behind bars? Why is procedure all of a sudden such a big issue when it comes to terrorists?

Personally, I think your "Kill em all" attitudes are no different than the terrorists. That just perpetuates it, making it a never ending process..a killing cycle you might say.

Yes, so let the terrorists live to kill another day, yep, seems plausible. Onward and upward!!

That's absolutly true. It's in some ways what is happening in the middle east. A circle of death.
