Hillary Rodham-Clinton Speaks About a Woman Being President

SENECA FALLS, N.Y. - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, standing outside an abandoned knitting mill that will become the new home of the National Women's Hall of Fame, said Thursday she hopes America is ready for its first woman president.

"It just depends on when and if that happens," the former first lady said. "Stay tuned."

Clinton continued to duck questions about whether she will run for the White House in 2008, saying yet again she is completely focused on her re-election this year.

If Clinton runs, she will lose. She is not a good selection for thefirst major party female ticket header. Perhpas a more balanced, popular, Kathleen Sebelius would be better.

I have to disagree, not that I think Hillary Clinton would win - but she is most certainly the best chance for a woman President we've seen and probably will see for a while.

    Hillary Clintons Major Downsides:

    1) Unpopular with Bill fans because she tends to come off as a naggy wife that never lets him speak.

    2) Her socialist health care plan which completely floundered made her look like a fiscal extremist.

    3) Her raid on violent videogames delt a blow to her credibility with socially libertarian Democrats (like myself).

    4) Her Joe Lieberman-esque support of the War in Iraq is killing her support with liberals.

So to liberals, she is too conservative....to moderates, she's too extreme....and to conservatives, she is Satan. She would never win and thus, I think that if we really want to work toward fielding a female candidate in 2008 - we should extensively explore other options.

Speak for your own country, not ours.

I'd like a woman winning in every country. And I can say whatever I want, and I will.
