What do Christian politicians offer the meek?

What do Christian politicians offer the meek? In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ said, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5)

What are Christian politicians doing to fulfill the promise of Jesus? Will they pursue economic policies that reward those who are less aggressive and take fewer risks? Will they appoint cabinet officials who are modest and self-effacing?

Your assumption seems to be that politicians should be trying to take the place of Jesus.

Let God fulfill his own promises.

Each of us (you too) are commissioned to use the talents we have been given and make the most of them. The Christian recognizes this as a duty that is mean to be both fulfilling and humbling. They are his gifts to us and the world.

They promise the Earth, though it's not in their gift.

Let God fulfill his own promises? I thought Christians were suppose to do the work for Jesus. Practice what he preached. Most of them do the opposite. Many of them right here on this forum. They don't walk the talk. They pass judgement quickly. They are envious of the poor and honor the rich. What a joke.

The Religious Right is often neither.

Racism is alive and well in the Tea Party. You're either with them or against them.

For Republicans the Bible is as much of an inconvenience as the Constitution.

The statement is a prophecy, not a command. "Judge not that you be not judged" would be a command.

Not even slightly. The Bible is full of contradictions and logical inconsistencies for a very specific reason that is part of God's plan.

God made man so that man could not know him through logic and consistency.

This is freaking brilliant! That covers everything and nothing at the same time.

    Or:

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing".
"But," says man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It proves you exist and so therefore you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh, that was easy," says man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white, and gets killed on the next zebra crossing.

    1st Corinthians (St. Paul)

As God says in the Scriptures, "I will destroy the wisdom of all who claim to be wise. I will confuse those who think they know so much." What happened to those wise people? What happened to those experts in the Scriptures? What happened to the ones who think they have all the answers? Didn't God show that the wisdom of this world is foolish? God was wise and decided not to let the people of this world use their wisdom to learn about him. Instead, God chose to save only those who believe the foolish message we preach. Jews ask for miracles, and Greeks want something that sounds wise. But we preach that Christ was nailed to a cross. Most Jews have problems with this, and most Gentiles think it is foolish. Our message is God's power and wisdom for the Jews and the Greeks that he has chosen. Even when God is foolish, he is wiser than everyone else, and even when God is weak, he is stronger than everyone else.

The Sermon on the Mount is no longer operative in contemporary Christianity. I think it's only a matter of time before they start taking it out of newly printed bibles.
I consider myself an FDR democrat and an Eisenhower republican. In today's America that makes me a radical without a party.
