Bush on criminal justice crisis and DNA testing

Check out this article about numerous errors of the U.S. justice system and how the Bush administration wants to address the problem. G.W. Bush is known for strongly supporting a death penalty but also realizes that wrongful convictions happen throughout the U.S. It seems the government has some plan to fight it:

    And, Matrixu, you are wrong:
    Death pennalty sucks!
Death penalty is a necessity. Non human “humans” should be eliminated, not preserved.

I´m sorry but a human can not be a non human.

The state becoming a murderer is not what I call justice. And I said, this article proves that what I said is true. Only the risk of executing an inocent person makes it wrong. Not talking about christian values and morals...

Alien traveler, I would like a formal explanation of how a human can cease to be human. Everybody makes mistakes, and because some insane guy decided to kill a person that he thought was stalking him doesn't mean he should die. It means he needs help.

Besides, I am not in support of state sanctioned murder in general. Admittedly, in some instances, where there is a great risk of a criminal escaping, the death penalty may be needed. But in general, the death penalty costs more than life in prison, and with the risk of killing an innocent person, it should only be reserved for special cases. Does the executioner, in pulling the switch, cease to be human?

Also, the death penalty is rascist and classist. It's common sense. If you have a rich white person that kills three poor black people, is he going to get the death penalty? What if it's a poor white person that kills three rich and powerful black people? Or what if it's a poor black person that kills three rich and powerful white people? With all other variables remaining the same from case to case, is the rich white person just as likely as the poor black person to get a death sentence?
