Romney is the best Republican candidate

I am pretty happy Romney is rising to the top. Romney has stated his goal is to repeal Obamacare and to institute the manditory use of E Verify for employment verification. So on two very important issues he is on the right side. I think he understand the economy and will make a good President.

Romney was cut from the Republican boilerplate. He is the quintessential modern Republican in every way. I have no idea why the party is having such a hard time picking him. It's like they're discovering they don't actually believe what they say they believe.

The Party does not pick a nominee. People vote for one. So far people are voting for Romney. Its still early in the process.

Possibly. He was a progessive governor, and could even prove the antithesis of Obama: talking right and leading left. (we on the left think Obama talks left but leads right.)

But it's perfect timing for Obama. Call it a Reagan Redux. Heck, Reagan even considered not running for re-election when UE hit 10 percent. Then things improved, as cycles do, making Reagan a winner, handily.

Obama, too, will benefit now that UE is falling. Plus, unlike Reagan, the Great Recession began before Obama took office, while Reagan endured 2 recessions on his watch.

Thats really funny you think Obama is talking left and leading right. You have the incorrect notion that conducting wars and seizing power are somehow conservative. Obama is ALL Liberal.

Comical for some, disappointing for others.

Tax policy not reversed, which would have self-reversed had he done nothing. Yet he lobbied its extension, while cutting payments to individual poor.

Gitmo, still housing prisoners absent due process.

    Privacy rights still trampled.

Gays in military had to self-correct. No interference, but no help either.

Health care "reform" that's little more than a gift to unsurance companies ... typo intended.

    Fed run by Wall Street.

The republican party is made up of several different factions. What "we're" having is an inability to agree with one another.
Maxine Waters told me to go to straight to hell. Doesn't anyone listen to Obama anymore?

He lobbied only to keep the Bush Tax Cuts only because he was tying onto it a tax increase for upper brackets. So there you go. He was trying to increase taxes on one social economic group in order to give it in benefits to another group. The part of your statement that is most puzzling is the part where you say he was reducing benefits to low income groups. He infact had increased entitlements all over the place.

I find it all very funny. Most american liberals, you excluded, can't seem to remember all of those broken campaign promises. It'll be interesting to watch him reverse himself on this next batch of promises. Just imagine all the fun you guys will have defending his abandonment of his present campaign promises.

I'd chacterize it as a series of fleeting disappointments in flavor of the week LDS-alternatives, resulting in an eventual nominee that will not merely be bruised in the primary, but sent into the General in traction, with a vital base demographic under-motivated.

Then on the flip-side, a president who's a political savant, with timing perfectly on his side, in relation to the Great Recession recovering, as recessions do, in a natural cycle.

    Obama wins, handily.
