    The ghosts of Haditha

The killings of 24 Iraqis one morning last November may mark a terrible turning point in America's already shaky presence in Iraq. Like the Abu Ghraib prison scandal before it, what happened at Haditha threatens to become one of the war's signature debacles, an alleged atrocity committed by a small group of service members that comes to symbolize the enterprise's larger costs.

Proganda Alert: an alleged atrocity committed by a small group of service members that comes to symbolize the enterprise's larger costs.

Now if this was a small group of Islams, Chinese, North koreans, etc., their whole country would be called out. ~Inky

    all muslims are terrorist

the only good muslim is a dead muslim

young muslims are terrorist in training

are troops are being shot at by children

how are they supposed to know who the enemy is when thay are not wearing uniforms

    I say, KILL EM ALL

better yet lets pull out of iraq, then turn the entire middle east to glass

you can not stop them. the only way to eliminate terrorism is to exterminate all muslims world wide.

Well the Abu Grab prison thing amounted too...nothing! Because it was...nothing! This however is more serious. If the Marines did do this then they need to punished. However liberals will use this event to cast a dark shadows over all of our troops.

    Who's the terrorist?

If these Marines did do what they're accused of, then that's a terrorist act as well...and should be treated as such. ~Inky

    Haditha - Reasonable Doubt
    Posted By Blackfive

This is probably one of the most important reads on the subject of Haditha and echoes sentiments that I've expressed on radio and here on Blackfive. Haditha - Reasonable Doubt:

...Marine Captain James Kimber commanded Lima Company of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. The troops involved in the incident were from Kilo Company. He tells interviewers that he first learned about the shootings in February when he heard that a Time magazine reporter was asking questions about civilian deaths. Notably, Kimber says he heard nothing about a civilian massacre during weekly meetings with the Haditha City Council and talks with local leaders. "It would have been huge, there would have been no question it would have filtered down to us," he said. "We reported no significant atmospheric change as a result of that day." Kimber who has been relieved of his command and is back in Camp Pendleton, CA says, “I believe I was a political casualty as a result of the Haditha incident.” Some media accounts indicate that some of the dead were relatives of a Haditha City Council member. The May 12, 2006 edition of Iraq Reconstruction Update carries a photo and short article about Marine officers holding weekly meetings with the Haditha City Council with no mention of the alleged shooting controversy...

Again, we should investigate, charge if evidence requires and try by court-martial. I would just ask that we all remember who labeled these United States Marines as murderers...

Update: John Donovan at MilBlogs points out a Times UK article - The Wrong Target: Terrorism, Not America, Is a Real and Present Threat to Our Freedom.

Update 2: Michael Yon has posted Hijacking Haditha - where he discusses, from personal experience, how the press can rush to judgement and why American military are easy targets...

    Always kicking and crying

...to cover up your wrongdoings.. typical political bullshit I say, right now the GOP is doing everything they can to write new laws to stop investigations, just they they have for everyo other fuckup they pulled. ex: "The secrecy act"... ~Inky

Hey calm down. Nothing to get all riled up over. All I am saying is wait until the investigation is over. If trial are in order we shall proceed. But I won't sit here and watch Marines or any other service member get screwed over because your media/god has decided to try and screw with our reputation. Get a grip pal. Wait for the trial then after the evidence is given we can at least find the judgement because I can tell you we wont find the truth one way or the other.
