it's the truth though. you show an unwillingness to accept the fact that those you support do it, as well as those you oppose.

at least i can admit it, you can't.

That's the beauty of being a cynic. I think they're all scumbags, assume the worst out of all of them. I don't support any of them. I do not support people who behave like that. I will never in my life again vote for anyone with a D or an R by their name, unless Buddy Roemer somehow pulls a rabbit out of his ass and wins he Republican nomination. Naturally, that won't happen for the exact same reason that I'm saying I'll never vote for a D or an R again: they're controlled by self-serving greedy short-sighted leeches.

No, actually that's not true at all. What I said was in direct response to someone trying to claim that the GOP was attempting to "get things done", I pointed out that they weren't trying to get anything done aside from tagging blame on the Democratic party. Truth be told, and my posting history which is searchable will clearly show this, I've had at least as many posts in opposition to Democratic policies as I have voiced my concerns over Republicans, but there's no telling you, is there?

Maybe you missed the 2 pages of posts in one thread I authored basically indicting sitting Democrats for what I consider criminal negligence, at best, over their conduct leading up to the financial crisis. I've also authored a thread showing which major corporations contribute to whom, with Obama being the very first political figure I expose, but you don't see any of that, you only see when I'm critical of your beloved party...and I'm the partisan one? I slam the Democratic party all over the board and that's ok with you, the second I say something which condems the Republican party it's "look at sparta he can't get past his man love for democrats".

It's absolutely ridiculous, you know that?

And another thing which is frustrating about you and 3 or 4 other people, you say stupid shit when you're caught out like, "yeah, I know you're ridiculous, thanks for finally admitting that". Fucking...grow up ffs.

he never said that. He only stated the real reason the bill didn't pass. You added all that extra stuff in there about him being okay when democrats do it.
As a Democrat, I take solace in the fact that the Republicans have nominated the guy who lost the nomination to the guy who lost the presidency to the guy who is now the President.

In defense of what MTM is saying, I think the new bill that just passed the House is actually an improvement in the childish behavior that we've seen from the GOP recently. They've really hurt themselves with the 'let's keep the country hostage till we get what we want" sort of intransigent game playing. With this, they've switched to normal, ordinary political game playing. I don't like their riders, but I do like the fact that they are facing political reality and trying to get the most they can out of it instead of trying to change the game by holding their breath. Maybe the House freshmen are growing up.

I posted a thread last night (which no one has responded to) that asks why the pipeline is such a problem. I don't get it. I get the fact that building more pipeline means committing to using more fossil fuels in the future, but honestly--does anyone think that's not going to happen?
Even when alternative views are clearly wrong, being exposed to them still expands our creative potential. In a way, the power of dissent is the power of surprise. After hearing someone shout out an errant answer, we work to understand it, which causes us to reassess our initial assumptions and try out new perspectives. “Authentic dissent can be difficult, but it’s always invigorating,” Nemeth says.

    LOL!

Damn good thing the Democrats are so bi-partisan and when they were in total power they went out of their way to include Republicans in the creation of legislation.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

The current plan calls for it to cut through huge amounts of wetlands in Nebraska, Obama has called for examining other routes. Some, it seems, have voiced opposition for lack of evidence on it's potential impact on water supply, grasslands other "natural" resourses. I think that means animal and plant life habitat.
