Id like to open up the discussion on the war on drugs. I hold the viewpoint that generally, the war on drugs is a failure and causes much more harm than good. Opinions?

The war on drugs is a great thing. The problem is the way people are going about it. Incarceration does nothing, costs a lot, and takes up room for someone that could have caused a real crime. Here in England there's far more emphasis on rehabilitaton and the like, and drug use has been falling quite substantially recently.
Make no mistake, drugs fuck up lives. But locking someone up for life because they made a mistake is ridiculous.
I dont have anything against bhudda, but when a crack head trys to get wellfair because he made the decision to do crack, hell why pay for someone elses mistake. He took the drugs in his hand and used them, therefore it was his freewill. Also if my presiednt is hopped up on coke and he is talking to a world leader, that would dicgrace me. If you make drugs open to the public, everybody can use them.
The question about whether or not they should be illegal is irrelevant.
i beg to differ. I dont think the goverment should care what we do to ourselves. The goverment repealed the ban on liquor because it was unfairly governing how people acted.
