One of the most unpatriotic articles of all time, and from FOX to boot.

Sources: Navy Seals knew mission was one-shot deal.

Go read it, it is laced with terrible adjectives and code words.

Here was my response to FOX over this piece of trash:

"Incredibly unpatriotic, this article. 1000 of things could have gone wrong, but they DID NOT. That is the point.
Losing a chopper is not like losing a life; in a secret operation any one of a hundred small things can go wrong. That is part of the risk of it all. Your choice of words is really blatantly partisan: how can you ditch a chopper other than loudly? Are you hoping that someone will pray to Jesus that the choopper will stop making noise?

Man, oh, man, what a bunch of trash! "The plan unraveled"...NO, it did not. The plan got changed, and that is what pros do. Really, FOX, any use of wording to make the sitting president look bad,eh? Only this time, you have decided to besmirch the NAVY SEALS as well. Totally 100% unpatriotic of you. You would have never in our lifetime written this type of article if a republican were in the White House right now, guaranteed.

And in case you didn't notice, we got Bin Laden, under Barack Obama's watch. It is a tribute to our fighting men that they have the ability to adapt in the middle of an operation. That is called "using your head" and not "the mission almost went horribly wrong". Shame on you 1000 times over, FOX!!"

Tea? No thank you: coffee. Hot. Black.

I used to be psychzophrenic, but now we are all doing just fine..........................

I just saw the same article in the Navy Times. It's an AP article published in many outlets.

You are right that 'the plan unraveled' phrase is wrong. I remember seeing reporting on that. Everyone got tense when the helo went down, but the officer running the op just relaxed, he said, we got this, we planned for this (or something to that effect).

I am somewhat surprised more didn't go wrong. Not because i don't respect the Seals, which I do but..superior fighting force or not American service men could have easily been killed. As close as they were to Paki Military its a wonder they didn't take some incoming shots as they flew out.

Things ran pretty smooth to me. Sure loosing a bird is a pain and a little costly but the end result is this Admin killed Public Enemy Number 1 after a 10 year stall.

The GOP (Fox News) seems determined to turn an American victory into a partisan Democratic one.,....& they are succeeding!

    Words have meanings.

I'd call it a ten year search. I believe this would be more accurate.

I see nothing unpatriotic about the article. It was rather matter-of-fact...and probably accurate. (can't really know for sure)

One thing IS for sure...in any operation things WILL go wrong. This is just a fact of war. This article illustrates that these SEALs adjusted their tactics and completed their mission.

    They did good.

BTW, you got a list of these "code words"? And the code book to go with them? Just asking for information, you understand.

I stand by my wording. Iraq was a diversion as the former Admin knew it would be a easy victory to defeat Iraq's troops thus making Bush the War President he creamed his pants thinking about being. They seemed to think the Govt there would remain stable thus when it imploded they were caught off guard and wasted money, time and troops.

Bush admitted he didn't think about Osama, only 6 months after claiming he wouldn't rest until we caught him. With all thats on Obama's plate the fact we were able to find and even kill Osama makes Obama a much able President then most, at least since FDR.

What an unsubstantiated bunch of political blather...and bitter retort. As usual the Bush haters semantically twist words to suit their needs. your biased views are revealed nicely here.

Fox News is worse than the liberal MSM the way Barack Obama is worse than Bush when it comes to runaway spending. Wrap your head around that statement if you think I'm partisan.

I don't have cable but I went ahead and connected up to the Fox News Channel while I ran a couple miles on the treadmill at the gym recently. This was soon after the news that we "got bin Laden," and Hannity (who was on while I was running) had a 3-5 minute introductory warning charade called "America On Alert" where he detailed all the fishy activity that had happened that day on our commercial airlines.

Fox News is partisan war propaganda in the purest form we have an example of in modern times. Period. Ultimately, nothing is more destructive to genuine conservatism than Fox News.

Wow. And if OBL hadn't been there he'd suddenly have been the least able President since Nixon?

Presidents are to be judged by the random unrelated stuff that happens while they happen to be in office? If that's the case why isn't FDR personally to blame for Pearl Harbor?

Challenger exploded on Reagan's watch. Celine Dion prospered under Clinton. Carolina won a Stanley Cup, which President can take honours for that?

Why is there this need to pretend the President is some kind of omnipotent, omniscient superbeing - responsible for anything anyone does?

Is anyone seriously suggesting that a political leader would be involved in planning a Navy Seal raid - and would be responsible for it being planned well or not? WTF?
