Thumbs up Civ4 theme music nominated for Grammy

Gaming - News - 'Civ IV' theme nominated for Grammy - Digital Spy
Christopher Tin's theme song for Civilization IV has become the first video game composition to be nominated for a Grammy award. According to Gamasutra, the track 'Baba Yetu' is shortlisted in the 'Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists' category. Playing during the game's opening credits, the song features vocals by the Soweto Gospel Choir. The composition did not appear in the latest addition to the series Sid Meier's Civilization V.

Congrats to Sid Meier and of course it's composer, Chris Tin!
Took 5 years to get this well deserved recognition.. it's a beautiful piece of modern choral music.
BTW, the lyrics are The Lord's Prayer sung in Swahili.

Just goes to show you the power of music... the christian Lord's Prayer being sung on a regular basis in the middle of a muslim city.

Music has the power to bring us together more than anything else, even love. Love can be conditional, kindness can be counter-productive, but music is always there and in its purest for it can transcend cultures, religions and bigotry. When I was playing a show in NC, I once saw a guy with a mohawk and a swastika on his belt help up a Latino guy who had fallen in the mosh pit. No other force on earth, other than music, can do that. I honestly believe that music has the power to change the world.

In related news. Civ V is still unavailable for less that 50 dollars. Rididulous price.

And I can't download it because when I do that with games I always end up uninstalling after a few months and then when I want to play again I'm completely incapapable of doing it, and I don't remember where I got it, when, passwords etc. That's how I lost BTS for Civ IV... and expansion I would like to be playing right now if I could re-install the fucker or find the website I got it from.
