I refuse to be manipulated by the retail industry. I am not going to act like a homeless guy camped on a sidewalk to save money. Either have an adequate supply or sell at regular price.

I buy everything online. My wife goes to the stores to buy clothes for the kids.

Boxing Day (December 26th) is the mad crazy shopping day here in Canada. We've had it for decades. But the thing is, around the early 90's I started noticing that the prices on Boxing Day and Boxing week stopped going down... they stayed the same. There was still all the signs, the banners, the massive blowout posters, the line ups around the block, the TV and radio ads promising 50, 60, 70% off. But I just started noticing that the prices were the same as always.
Then around the turn of the century I've started noticing that the prices are now going UP for the blowout Boxing Day Sales. They increase the price and people line up all night and buy 5 dvd players for themselves... for more than they cost before. It's probably the saddest thing I've ever seen... pathetic rubes lining up outside Future Shop to be the first to spend more for a CD than they could have spent yesterday... because there's a huge sign saying "One day only, 60% off CD's" hanging over the highway.
I would never, ever wait on line to get into a store. It's just not worth it for me to act like animals trying to race and get to the item. I'd feel completely stupid doing so. But I did go shopping a little yesterday, but I'm in montana, so black friday is like a normal shopping day in Long Island. I'm trying to build up my wardrobe with shirts and ties since my next job will require that attire, and you can't beat getting a long sleeved collared shirt with matching tie for $20. Or some dress slacks for half price. Plus no sales tax in Montana helps.
