    Hurricane Earl

Just waiting here in SE Mass about 3 miles from the ocean. Sounds like we'll get hit starting tomorrow afternoon & through tomorrow night but it probably will be just windswept rainstorm for us.
(I do love storms, especially winter Nor-Easters when we lose power & our house is still warm as toast with the coal stove heat!)
Any stories or preparations from anyone else?

I love storms as well. I enjoyed the tropical depressions we would get but hated the hurricanes even if they were exciting.

As a Democrat, I take solace in the fact that the Republicans have nominated the guy who lost the nomination to the guy who lost the presidency to the guy who is now the President.

I clipped my hedges. Figured it was a good time to do it because with the high winds coming I don't have to bag the branches, just let em go.

There are some minor effect expected in the Southeastern part of Conn. but that is about 65-70 road miles from me. I just got back helping some elderly cousins secure their water front cottage in Old Saybrook Conn, on Long Island Sound which will get an almost near miss. I really wanted to stay there an watch the show. We can see Long island from their place but not today. They are protected by Long Island from Earl. I wish I had brought my camera could have posted a few pics. How dumb of me..

    With softly spoken, kindly word
    Remember also me."

hey Devil I am jeleous of you. If I live long enough I may retire a few miles North of you. We are considering Algonquit Maine OR MAYBE KENNEBUNKPORt. I only like coastal Maine since those flies would drive me nuts in the interior of Maine.
