So now the stimulus has ran out, now reality begins to set in only we are deeper in debt. We should have not had the stimulus in the first place.

We could have made the cuts already and possibly been on our way out, but not now looks worse for the people once again.

Only now we have more debt to pay for.

"This is the largest state aid cut we've seen in the last two decades," he said. "If you think this year is bad, next year is going to be worse because stimulus will run out."

Guess throwing money at a problem doesnt solve anything. Just like normal people who overspend and have to make up for it now the gov. is going to have to make budget cuts.

But guess what this is when the tax hikes also come in.

Should have made the budget cuts in the first place, hindsight is always 20/20. Unfortunately we are going to have to go back to american ingenuity if we have any left to get us out of this fiscal crisis.

Gov. cant fix it they are to incompetent and only make things worse.

Get ready for heavy austerity measures in every state. It has begun already.

umm, lets see, it could be a good thing because as more lose their jobs, the CO2 levels will decrease......

We need to make people understand that with any new social service will come higher taxes to pay for it. You don't need a degree in Economics to know that you will need more money to pay for more stuff. Social services are completely fine, as long as we are willing to pay for it. We can't have any more of this increased spending and decreased taxes. It just doesn't work in any shred of delusional way like that. People need to realize that, and maybe then, we'll be more careful about what we institute.

To this end, it is my belief that when pollution is found, it should be halted at the source, even if this requires stringent government action against important segments of our national economy."

My own state of Pennsylvania wrecked its budget with years of irresponsibly letting the pensions go out of control. No stimulus is going to fix that unless it includes brain transplants for the people currently in office. Good luck to the next governor cleaning up the mess this one leaves behind.

Don't worry, all those problems will be the fault of the new Governor the minute he takes office.

California has even bigger problems. Here's a interesting article California's Unions are out of control

The state’s public school teachers are the highest-paid in the nation. Its prison guards can easily earn six-figure salaries. State workers routinely retire at 55 with pensions higher than their base pay for most of their working life. Meanwhile, what was once the most prosperous state now suffers from an unemployment rate far steeper than the nation’s and a flood of firms and jobs escaping high taxes and stifling regulations. This toxic combination—high public-sector employee costs and sagging economic fortunes—has produced recurring budget crises in Sacramento and in virtually every municipality in the state.

These people are going to get pennies on the dollar for their retirement plans. California has no money to fund that kind of thing. No money.
