In all history there is no war which was not hatched by the governments, the governments alone, independent of the interests of the people, to whom war is always pernicious even when successful.
The greater the state, the more wrong and cruel its patriotism, and the greater is the sum of suffering upon which its power is founded.
Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.

Moves always cause problems. Also the "other" website has some of the previous PP members. The circumstances of the move caused some angst. IMHO, some was deserved and some not. I visit both sites and feel there is plenty of room on the internet for everybody. To each their own.

Agreed. The lack of warning caught many people by surprise and this ticked them off. The fact two of the moderators here lean hard one way and several of the former-PP now "Others" lean hard the other way isn't helping with an amicable transition.
It's been only a few days and this website is improving almost daily. Now it has to find a membership. Not sure how to it goes about recruiting people, but word of mouth always helps.

This is a very different site. It has a different base and the focus it very opposite of what it was at PP. It does take some getting used to.
It was not the lack of warning so much as the" BOOM here we are deal with us" attitude that seemed to come from the new moderators.
There was no introduction from them as to who they were and what their background was - I fact I have pointed out today
Sorry to be a bit of a grumpyhead about it but I think some discussion with the two moderators in particular at a personal level would help a LOT - we do not know these people and as I keep saying a board is more than code it is a community.
In one day we faced a new board, new URL, new Admin, new rules, new moderators, new (and very different ideologically) members - one of whom I know has been banned by AT LEAST three forums and is open about being a sockpuppet - a fact even his avatar shows. And not only no warning from previous owner but initially no input from STAFF (not just one person but STAFF) as to what was happening and where the board was going.
In fact if you look at "change theory" this is exactly how NOT to do it!!
I thought Chase and AgentM were going to be part of this staff? It doesn't appear that they are. Does anyone know what happened?
I did announce it earlier, that AgentM resigned earlier, and Chase is MIA. I thought you already knew
So, we're appointing new mods. Check http://www.politicsforum.com/must-se...uidelines.html . Sadly, everyone seemed to complain about biased mods, but no one wants to be a fair one. No applications yet....
BTW, anyone want me to try and bring back WhistleStopper.com back into life ? I might just have a way.
Did Agent M give a reason that can be published publicly or was it personal?
I had to google "whistlestopper" to find out what it was. For the moment, I have enough political forums to visit, thank you very much.![]()

AgentM was not happy that he was left in dark about the sale of PF and subsequent merger, as the case with every other member. Understandable enough. Since he submitted the resignation in private, I suppose we will keep it that way until he permits me to do so.
I never knew abt whitlestpopper as well, but it seems to be quite famous amongst the members though. Ahh... nvm.
