LOS ANGELES - One after another, shortly after a diagnosis of breast cancer, each of the women learned that her health insurance had been canceled. First there was Yenny Hsu, who lived and worked in Los Angeles. Later, Robin Beaton, a registered nurse from Texas. And then, most recently, there was Patricia Relling, a successful art gallery owner and interior designer from Louisville, Kentucky.

I guess I just have to wonder.. Why do conservatives want insurance companies to continue unregulated?? This is why we needed Health reform.. This is why we needed a government option..

What I want to know is.. How can conservatives argue for the insurance companies when they profit off the death of americans?

I haven't heard the argument 'for' insurance companies. Please share this argument. I have heard the argument of healthcare insurance remaining in private domain which thier is great arguments for with the proper regulation.

The flip side of that is how can liberals argue that we all need to pay for insurance for people who choose not to work and remain uninsured? Why do I have to pay for my insurance and for others.

I am just playing devils advocate as I support reform, just not what was passed. There were some good things about it, but as a whole it sucked. But I have yet heard an argument that said 'Insurance companies need to remain because............"

I guess I just have to wonder, why you think they're unregulated?

"What I want to know is.. How can conservatives argue for the insurance companies when they profit off the death of americans?"

A woman in Oregon was notified by letter that the State of Oregon would not pay for her cancer treatment. I suppose that's because the state benefits from her death. Obviously, what else could it be? The state was gracious enough to point out, in the same letter, that they would pay to help her commit suicide. All heart.

How about people collecting Social Security? What is the incentive for the government to keep them alive?

If you are screwed by an insurance company you have recourse. If you're screwed by the government, you don't. At best, you'll become another humorous comment from our President.

Then why have the health insurance companies been fighting against the new health care law?

    I couldn't agree more!

The idea that U.S. companies can increase their profits by making sick Americans go untreated until they die..... is just so EVIL that even I don't understand how we allow it! (& I'm the Devil!!)

As usual.. No link from you??

By in large the federal government hasn't screwed anyone.. You are one sick individual if you think that government has motive to kill off anyone on social security..

You can file a claim against the government so you do have a recourse.. The government has liability insurance too..

I am waiting for a link about your woman in orgeon..

Here's your link. It does get old when people who don't read the news and can't use Google expect someone to lead them along.

Of course, I expect a complaint now that my link is to Fox News. That's step two for deny, deny, deny.

And, golly, yes, the federal government has never ever screwed anyone. No evidence of that. Has never happened.
