Sorry, I wasn't here on April 17th, did we have a post on the Anniversery of Oklahoma? Did we tie it in to today's rhetoric?

Clinton reprised his role as prophet against all things Limbaugh and tea party, providing not-so-veiled warnings that tea parties are McVeigh part 2.

Alright well, we can disparidge the left and right divide again, or we can talk about the realistic possibilities of 168 people getting killed for 0 reason again.

Probably, it is what the government does.

And we don't want to talk about Waco which had a death toll of only 72 to 86 according to various official sources. Could that happen again? Sure. And, we don't want to talk about Ruby Ridge where Mrs. Weaver was killed by a man described by the government as a contract sharpshooter. When the state tried to prosecute the killer of Mrs. Weaver he had total immunity from prosecution because he was under contract to the government. Could that happen again? Sure.

We do want to talk the tragedy at Oklahoma City. Could that happen again? Sure.

Anything can happen again. A World Trade Center type of attack. Waco. Ruby Ridge. Oklahoma City. Kent State. Race riots in large cities.

So, why do we want to talk about Oklahoma City? Because, some on the left wish to silence anyone who isn't buying in to their vision of America. Those people are inciting violence and need to be silenced.

Do those people include SEIU, ACORN, Rev. Al Sharpton, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, or President Obama? Of course not. How about people on late night television programs giggling about Governor Palin being raped and President Bush being killed? Of course not. Their demonizing and calling for violence is fine. We don't need to shut up Keith Olbermann or Rachel Madow. No, no, no. It's just Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck who have to be silenced. Do the President or Speaker Pelosi need to think before speaking? Of course not.

Who was responsible for the tragedy in Oklahoma City? Tim McVeigh and a few associates. If we go farther and say what pushed a nut like Tim McVeigh over the edge then it was Waco. Waco and the cover-up after that was documented by a Congressional report. And, what caused Waco? Was it a nutty prophet and his followers or was it an over-reaching government agency hoping for a budget increase, which is why some older ATF agents referred to the assault as "Operation Showtime". Or was it the subsequent disastrous handling of the seige? Why didn't the federal government take the sheriff up on his offer to arrest Koresh with a warrant when he came into town for his regularly scheduled haircut? What, an arrest with no video?

The last two disasters I saw on television was the burning of the compound at Waco and the wreckage in Oklahoma. Personally, I'll never forget either one. I also won't use those tragedies to silence those who are critical of the government. So far, we still have the 1st Amendment.
