With Obama doing little on jobs, allies grow frustrated

I would be too if I was that staff, Lord. I know Obama has no experience creating jobs, in the private sector, executive, etc, but WHERE does he think the jobs that will save him are going to come from? I don't see any soon....

In the wake of last week's disastrous jobs report, allies of the Obama administration are expressing extreme frustration at what they see as the White House's inaction on the issue. But there's little evidence that Team Obama is listening.

The economy added just 54,000 jobs in May, and long-term joblessness is at a record high. Federal Reserve chair Ben Bernanke admitted this week that the recovery has been "frustratingly slow."

That bleak news has prompted harsh criticism of the White House from many of the administration's friends, who view the focus on deficit reduction rather than job creation as badly misplaced, and who want more government stimulus to jolt the economy.

You raise a very good question, (R)man. Where will these jobs come from? Ever since that commie lover came into the White House, he adopted an anti-business environment - that included more job killing regs, cap and tax to his endless attcks on the rich with higher taxation, etc. Face it, no business will invest in an environment in which there will be higher interests rates to no spending by cash strapped customers because of high gas prices and no jobs.

Obama was given that position! He obviously isn't too bright, and it show by what he has done in office. What an embarrassment!

I blame all those loser libs for voting for this simpleton.

Deficit reduction "versus" job creation? Jeez, no wonder these guys are so screwed up!

It depends where you think the problem is, right? The deficit, that's the government's problem, and it has very little to do with me until the system comes crashing completely down. But the "where do I get a job" question is direct and personal, and it's on the private sector side and really has very little to do with government, except insofar as they foster a friendly or not-so-friendly business environment.

So we got one thing (deficit) on the government side, and one thing (jobs) on the private side, and tell me again how they compete with each other?

And what exactly would you do to create jobs?

In fact, let me amplify the previous post. And (R)ighteous1 this is also a direct appeal to your conservative sensibilities. There is an element of the Republican party which is not fiscally sane. I'll call them the "deficits don't matter" crowd. These people have been selling snake oil, and for partisan reasons (rah rah for our side) other well-meaning Republicans have gotten on board, without fully understanding who they're getting in bed with.

The deficit is the government's problem. I say they created it, and they should fix it. It's not my problem that trade deficits get converted into debt, they never even gave me a chance to vote on that system. The government does what it wants anyway, with or without my input, and as long as I'm not being given representation I couldn't care less what the government does.

UNTIL it starts affecting me personally, then I care.

Then I start looking around, and I start asking myself why government is in all these places it isn't supposed to be? Looking at the fingers in those pies, I don't see red and blue. Only green. It's the only color being represented.

The deficit, that's an internal government accounting issue, and they're going to have to find a way to fix it. But regulating commerce is a public responsibility as stated directly in the Constitution, and if they don't fulfill their duties then why am I paying them money?

Track the dollars, (R)ighteous1. Corporate America has been selling us a bill of goods.

Hm, can I "pre-empt" those answers?

They're going to say "unleash the private sector".

Only, the private sector, right now, is sitting on over a triilion dollars in cash.

    (Our cash, mostly)...

    So um...

    How come they're not unleashed?

    Hm?

Not so fast. There is something the government can do to spur jobs...treat China like China treats us.
"after 9/11 bush was polling around 90 percent. that means the vast majority of democrats and independents put partisanship aside and threw in their lot with the country and her president, and it was only after years of bush's abject failure that this support began to erode.

i've yet to see any evidence this move is even in the republican playbook. obama's got a D on his helmet so republicans want to see him sacked. period." Highway234

I seriously doubt that any of those republicans have any idea on how to create jobs.
