U.S. home prices suffer double-dip back to 2002 levels

The housing market is a great overall indicator of things to come and a thumbnail assessment of how the economy is currently being handled.

For all of the Obama-tards that keep arguing that he's god's gift to mankind here's just one more of a myriad of examples of why he's such a total failure.

I read today that this is normal when home prices are outrageous for a long period of time. It's a correction in the market.

I agree completely. How we had such a huge boom in home building with housing prices rising at record levels the whole time never made any sense to me to begin with. Since when does increasing supply of something not result in prices going down? It was backwards economics IMO.

What world do you live in? Home prices are not going up. Check out the case schiller index on that.

Corrections happen normally, but this is more then that. There is lack of confidence in banks to loan money to current buyers unless they have a large down payment. Bad loaning practices have brought the market to what it is.

Add an overvaluation of home prices and you have the current situation.
